Cyberpunk 2077's Update 2.5 arrives today, October 22, on PC, Mac, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The Switch 2 version will follow later. The patch coincides with the second season of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, which premiered on October 20.
The patch's biggest gameplay addition is dual-wielding. The Double Trouble perk in the Cool skill tree, along with four supporting perks, lets V hold a pistol or revolver in each hand. You cannot dual-wield shotguns or pair a pistol with a submachine gun. You can, however, put together a proper gunslinger build, while Photo Mode gets new dual-wielding poses and frames inspired by the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game. The story additions tie into the anime. The quest Clampdown serves as a prelude to the events of Edgerunners Season 2, telling the story of Kingsley's crew's last job. It was created in collaboration with the show's writers, with the characters voiced by the same actors as in the anime. A second quest, Welcome to Paradise!, takes V on a tour of Night City narrated by the city's holographic founder, Richard Night. Both quests are available on existing saves. Clampdown unlocks after The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, while the tour requires completing The Heist and reaching Street Cred level 15. Tarot card collectors also have more to find, with 12 new Minor Arcana cards hidden around the city.Console players finally get mod support, though the Switch 2 version has yet to receive the feature. On PC, CD Projekt RED has added DLSS 4.5 with frame generation up to 6X and a second-generation Transformer model. Compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D displays are now supported, as is MetalFX on Mac. The FSR options have also been cleaned up, with FSR 3 removed. Other additions include hairstyles previously exclusive to NPCs, five clothing sets, the HKGN 102.0 FM radio station with 16 tracks from both anime seasons, and an FOV slider on consoles.
