Cyberpunk 2077: All Romances, Intimate Scenes, and Joytoy Locations

Cyberpunk 2077 offers four full romance routes, several one-time intimate encounters, and four Joytoys. The exact options available to V depend on body type and voice, while some scenes belong to Johnny Silverhand rather than V.The original version of this guide was written for the launch version of Cyberpunk 2077 and contained several outdated or overly strict requirements. The current game, including Phantom Liberty and Patch 2.31, still uses the same four main romance partners, but Update 2.1 added repeatable apartment hangouts after a relationship is established.

All Main Romance Options in Cyberpunk 2077

These four characters can become V's actual romantic partners. Meredith Stout, Rogue Amendiares, Alt Cunningham, Ruby Collins, and the Joytoys are separate encounters and do not become long-term partners.

Joytoys: All Four Locations

The old guide mixed up Joytoys and the Dolls from Clouds. They are not the same thing. Dolls are part of the Clouds storyline in Automatic Love. Their scenes are narrative and therapeutic rather than standard paid intimate encounters. Joytoys are Night City sex workers marked with a lips icon on the map. V can use their services regardless of body type or voice.Two Joytoys are available on Jig-Jig Street in Japantown from relatively early in the game. One is male and one is female. Each charges 100 eurodollars.

Joytoys in Cyberpunk 2077

Two additional high-end Joytoys become available much later at the Dark Matter club. You gain access to this location during Kerry Eurodyne's side job Off the Leash. After finishing that quest and returning later, you can find one male and one female Joytoy inside the club. Each costs 3,000 eurodollars.These are repeatable encounters and have no effect on V's main romantic relationships.

Meredith Stout

How to Unlock Meredith Stout's Scene

Meredith Stout is a one-time encounter rather than a full romance. V's body type, voice, and lifepath do not matter. You meet Meredith during the main job The Pickup. The important condition is not simply keeping her infected credchip intact. The real requirement is that Meredith must prevail over Anthony Gilchrist by the end of the mission.The safest route is to meet Meredith before entering All Foods and then make sure the encounter with Maelstrom ends violently. You can use her infected credchip without removing the malware, or simply attack Royce during the negotiation. If Meredith appears outside All Foods after the mission, you have the correct outcome.Later, she sends V a message. Reply positively and agree to meet her at the No-Tell Motel. This starts the side job Venus in Furs. Go to the motel and enter the marked room to trigger the scene. There is no continuing relationship afterward, but you can pick up the iconic melee weapon Sir John Phallustiff in the room.

Judy Alvarez

How to Romance Judy Alvarez

Judy can only be romanced by a V with both a feminine body and feminine voice. Her romance develops through a long side-job chain that begins after the main story job Double Life. The relevant quests are Both Sides, Now, Ex-Factor, Talkin' 'Bout a Revolution, Pisces, and Pyramid Song.Our Cyberpunk 2077 side jobs guide covers the wider character questlines.

What Choices Matter for Judy?

Most early dialogue choices do not permanently lock the romance. The most important decision happens in Pisces. The safest outcome is to reject Maiko's attempt to take control of Clouds and refuse any payment from her. You can also allow Maiko to take over and still preserve Judy's romance path if you refuse her payment afterward. What you should not do is fully side with Maiko and then accept her money. The old guide also claimed that Woodman must be killed. That is incorrect. His fate does not determine whether Judy can be romanced.After Pisces, wait for Judy to contact you about Pyramid Song. Agree to go diving with her and accept the invitation to stay at the cottage afterward. When you find Judy in the bathroom, choose the intimate dialogue option and kiss her. This triggers the romance scene. The next morning, meet Judy at the pier. To turn the encounter into a relationship, choose the option indicating that the night was the beginning of something meaningful rather than a one-time distraction.Once the relationship is established, Judy becomes available for later romance interactions and apartment hangouts.

Panam Palmer

How to Romance Panam Palmer

Panam can be romanced by a V with a masculine body. The selected voice does not block her route. You first meet Panam during the main story while searching for Anders Hellman. After completing Life During Wartime, her personal questline begins. The three key side jobs are Riders on the Storm, With a Little Help from My Friends, and Queen of the Highway.

What Choices Matter for Panam?

During Riders on the Storm, rescue Saul and support Panam. When the group shelters from the sandstorm, use the available flirt options and show physical interest when prompted.During With a Little Help from My Friends, do not reveal Panam's plan to Saul. Doing so can end her questline and lock you out of the romance. Continue supporting her during the train operation and use the flirt options when they appear.The final romance scene takes place in Queen of the Highway. While testing the Basilisk, Panam suggests taking advantage of the direct neural connection between the two of you. Accept her proposal to trigger the intimate scene. After the battle, continue the conversation with her and confirm that you want the relationship to continue. Panam's storyline is also important for one of the major endings, so completing these quests has consequences beyond the romance itself.

River Ward

How to Romance River Ward

River can be romanced by a V with a feminine body. Voice selection does not prevent the relationship. You first meet him during the side job I Fought the Law, which begins through Elizabeth and Jefferson Peralez. River's personal story then continues in The Hunt and Following the River.

How to Keep River's Romance Available

The safest route through The Hunt is to successfully locate Randy and rescue him from Edgewood Farm. After the rescue, support River during the final conversation rather than dismissing his concerns. Some time later he invites V to a family gathering in Following the River.Take part in the activities with Joss and the children, then go with River to the top of the water tower. When River tries to determine whether V is interested in him, choose the romantic responses and kiss him when the prompt appears. The following morning, speak to him again and confirm that you want a real relationship rather than a one-night encounter.

Kerry Eurodyne

How to Romance Kerry Eurodyne

Kerry requires V to have both a masculine body and masculine voice. His storyline appears quite late because it is connected to Johnny Silverhand, Rogue, and the reunion of Samurai. The relevant jobs include Holdin' On, Second Conflict, A Like Supreme, Rebel! Rebel!, I Don't Wanna Hear It, Off the Leash, and Boat Drinks.Most dialogue choices in the earlier Kerry quests are more forgiving than launch-era guides suggested. You do not need one exact response in every conversation. The romance becomes explicit in Off the Leash. When Kerry invites V onto the terrace, respond with clear romantic interest and kiss him when the option appears.Even if you miss that first kiss, the final opportunity arrives in Boat Drinks. Join Kerry on the yacht. When he asks V for help during the destruction of the boat, kiss him. This triggers the intimate scene. After swimming to shore, sit beside Kerry and choose the affectionate option that confirms you want to remain together.

Rogue Amendiares

How to Unlock Rogue's Date

Rogue is not a full V romance. The romantic interaction belongs to Johnny Silverhand, who temporarily uses V's body. To unlock the date, progress through Johnny's side job Chippin' In and avoid completely alienating him during the conversation at the oil fields.If the route is open, Johnny asks V to contact Rogue. This starts Blistering Love. Meet Rogue at the Afterlife and travel with her to the drive-in cinema. Let Johnny take control when prompted. During the movie, choose the romantic dialogue and kiss Rogue. The encounter does not become a full relationship or sex scene. Rogue stops things before they go further because the situation with Johnny using V's body does not feel right to her. Completing Blistering Love also keeps Rogue's later ending route available.

Alt Cunningham

Alt Cunningham in Cyberpunk 2077

Alt Cunningham's intimate scene is automatic and cannot be missed if you progress through the main story. It takes place during Johnny Silverhand's memories in the Never Fade Away flashback connected to the main job Transmission. The scene involves Johnny and Alt in 2013. V is only experiencing Johnny's memory and does not personally enter a relationship with Alt. There are no dialogue requirements and no character-creation restrictions.

Ruby Collins

Ruby Collins is another brief Johnny encounter that the old guide did not mention. During Chippin' In, V allows Johnny to take control of the body. Johnny goes on a long night out while following leads connected to Adam Smasher. He meets Ruby at the Empathy club and flirts with her. The encounter continues after they leave together, but a car crash abruptly ends the moment. This is a short scripted encounter rather than a relationship and is tied to Johnny's sequence during Chippin' In.

Can You Romance Songbird, Reed, Alex, or Aurore in Phantom Liberty?

No. Phantom Liberty does not add any new romance partners. Songbird, Solomon Reed, Alex Xenakis, and Aurore Cassel cannot be romanced regardless of the choices you make in Dogtown. The expansion does include additional dialogue and reactions involving V's existing relationships, especially around major story developments, but none of the new Phantom Liberty characters has a full romance route. This remains true in the current version of the game.

How Apartment Dates Work After Update 2.1

Update 2.1 expanded the four main relationships with a repeatable side job called I Really Want to Stay at Your House. After completing Judy, Panam, River, or Kerry's romance and officially entering a relationship, wait for your partner to message V. Reply and choose one of V's available apartments as the meeting location. Your partner will appear there, allowing you to sit together, talk, dance, shower, sleep, and use several other relationship interactions. The hangout can be repeated indefinitely after its cooldown. This system only applies to the four main love interests. Meredith, Rogue, Alt, Ruby, and Joytoys do not become apartment partners.

Can You Romance More Than One Character?

The game does not introduce a jealousy system that immediately punishes V for completing more than one compatible romance route. Character restrictions already limit which combinations are possible. A V with a feminine body and feminine voice can potentially complete Judy and River's routes. A V with a masculine body and masculine voice can potentially complete Panam and Kerry's routes. However, important ending sequences can ask V to contact or choose a specific partner, so the game eventually treats one relationship as the primary romantic connection for that ending. Casual encounters with Meredith or Joytoys do not end an existing relationship.
