Rockstar Games has released the final trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, a 90-second video offering the closest look yet at the protagonists' backstories. Views skyrocketed, reaching around 3 million views and 850,000 likes in the first four hours alone. The game is still scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026.Now we know that Jason served in the military, although by his own admission, it didn't exactly go smoothly, and that he met Lucia while she was having trouble with the law. An even more revealing scene shows Lucia in the shower wearing an electronic ankle monitor. It suggests her movements will be restricted at the start of the game. The trailer features "Flower in a Hurricane" by electronic duo Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar also stressed that all the footage was captured on PS5.The community's reaction has been unexpectedly sentimental. Hundreds of comments under the video say things along the lines of "a moment of silence for those who didn't live to see this." People joke about the 13-year wait but openly admit they didn't believe the release date would hold until the very end. Incidentally, the eligibility cutoff for The Game Awards 2026 is November 20, so GTA VI could technically compete for Game of the Year less than a month after its release.
