Albert, better known as the Plague Doctor in Graveyard Keeper 2, lives directly beneath your house, but you can only reach him after completing several early story quests. His questline unlocks alchemy, the Resurrection Lab, and full zombie creation before becoming closely intertwined with Linda's story later in the game. In this guide, we'll cover all of Albert's quests, the required ingredients, and the conditions for reaching 50, 90, and 100 reputation with him.

Dungeons and... that's it, probably.

Your first meeting with Albert begins after the Good Fellow quest. Return home and speak with Larry, after which a locked hatch inside the house becomes available. Opening it requires 1 Bronze Detail and 2 Wooden Planks, along with Building Mastery 2.Head down into the dungeon. The path is blocked by rubble, which requires 3 Bronze Details and 3 Wooden Planks to clear. Bring a Pickaxe and raise your Building Mastery to 3. Beyond the blockage, you'll find tracks and a locked door with Albert on the other side.During the conversation, you'll learn that the Abandoned Tower can only be entered with two items. You obtained the Inquisitor's Medallion during the prison prologue, while Albert gives you the Secret Combination. Return to the surface, open the tower entrance using both items, go inside, and unlock the hatch so the Plague Doctor can follow you.Speak with Albert again in the upper laboratory and ask about Dream Dust. This unlocks Alchemy, Basic, increases your reputation with the doctor by 10, and gives you access to the laboratory and the Study Table already installed there. Don't rush to spend the tower's Science on random items, as it is fairly limited early in the game.

Sweet Dreams

Albert knows how to make the Dream Dust needed to summon the Fairy. One portion requires 1 Alchemy Flask and a studied ingredient containing one green and one blue rune. Some of the easiest options are Ash and Peat, but you need to study the ingredient first or it will not appear in the alchemy menu.Craft 1 Dream Dust in Laboratory I or Laboratory II and bring it to Albert. The doctor only inspects the powder and gives it back, so the item is not consumed. Keep the Dream Dust for the Chasing Fairy Lights quest and the summoning of Wispy. This stage also rewards you with 10 reputation, Story I, and Alchemist's Clothes. After the conversation, follow Albert through the hatch into his underground laboratory and watch the zombie scene. You cannot unlock everything beneath the house immediately, so take care of other tasks and sleep at least once. After waking up, Larry will remember the old resurrection experiments and point you toward the sealed room near the morgue.

How to Unlock the Resurrection Lab

Approach the blocked passage and prepare 1 Bronze Detail and 1 Melted Fat. The work is done by hand and requires Building Mastery 1. Once the passage is open, enter with Larry and make sure to inspect the chest. If you try to leave immediately, the skull will stop the Keeper and make you examine the records you found. The documents reveal that restoring the old technology requires the Necronomicon. You obtain the book much later through Donkey and Gunter, so there is no reason to search for it now. The entire related storyline is covered in our complete Donkey quest walkthrough and the complete Gunter quest walkthrough. Before leaving, repair the Power Switch in the room. This requires 1 Bronze Detail, 2 Wooden Planks, and Building Mastery 3. Once the repair is complete, the Reanimation Technology appears in the Anatomy and Alchemy branch. It costs 30 red, 10 green, and 10 blue tech points and requires the previous Alchemy, Distillation, Skull, and Teeth Technologies. After researching Reanimation, you unlock Resurrection Table I and the Bronze Zombie Collar. This concludes the story portion of the quest. We cover preparing corpses, collars, Reanimation Liquid, and zombie workstations in detail in our guide to creating and using zombies in Graveyard Keeper 2.

Do You Need to Study the Necronomicon?

Once you obtain the Necronomicon later in the game, you can study it at the Study Table. This requires 30 Faith and 10 Science and immediately rewards you with 300 blue tech points. The book itself is not consumed. You do not need to study it to unlock Reanimation. The Technology becomes available after repairing the Power Switch, while studying the Necronomicon is simply an excellent way to obtain a large amount of blue tech points. There is no reason to postpone creating zombies just because you have not saved up 30 Faith yet.

Varnish Before You Fiddle

The next task becomes available after you bring Linda Paint and she asks you to find her friend Alexta's violin. Alexta's brother turns out to be Albert, so head down to his laboratory and ask him about the instrument. The doctor agrees to give you the violin, but first asks you to restore its finish and unlocks the Lacquer formula. To make Lacquer, use Laboratory I or Laboratory II, 1 Alchemy Flask, and a studied ingredient with two blue runes. Simple options include Night Flower and Minced Meat. If the required ingredient does not appear in the menu, study it at the Study Table first.Bring the finished Lacquer to Albert. He takes the item, your reputation with the doctor increases by 10, and you receive Alexta's Violin. Take the instrument back to Linda afterward. The rest of the concert preparations are covered in detail in our complete Linda quest walkthrough.

Personal Zombie Zone

After Linda's concert, visit Albert again. This time, he is interested not in musical instruments but in his experiments with the undead. The doctor activates a special table in his laboratory and gives you 2 Reanimation Liquids and 2 Golden Zombie Collars, then asks you to create a particularly powerful test subject with at least eight red skulls. The quest requires a zombie with at least 8 red skulls. The Golden Zombie Collar can support that many, so the easiest approach is to prepare a corpse with exactly eight. Replace its organs before resurrection if necessary, then equip the Golden Zombie Collar, use Reanimation Liquid, and resurrect the body at the appropriate table. If the skull system is still unclear, use our guide to corpses, organs, and body improvement in Graveyard Keeper 2.Pick up the finished zombie and carry it personally to Albert's laboratory. While you are holding a suitable zombie, a special interaction appears at the designated spot. Place the worker there and watch the scene. Albert keeps this zombie permanently, so do not hand over one you were planning to use at the Factory, farm, or another workstation.Completing the quest rewards you with another 10 reputation with Albert. Together with the previous quests and Linda's concert, this brings you close to the next important relationship threshold.

Plague Me Maybe

This quest begins after you give Linda the Blank Softcover Notebook. She wants to visit Albert, so head down to the laboratory and tell him about her plans. He refuses the first time, saying he is not in the mood, but another dialogue option becomes available immediately afterward. The second conversation requires 50 reputation with Albert. By this point, the required amount comes from opening the tower, Dream Dust, Lacquer, Linda's concert, and Personal Zombie Zone. If the dialogue option is still locked, you have missed one of those stages. At 50 reputation, ask Albert about Linda again. This time, she arrives during the scene and gives him the notebook. Let the conversation play out, then leave the laboratory and go to sleep. After sleeping, two short follow-up conversations become available. First, speak with Albert again. He thanks you for the gift, increasing your reputation with him by another 10. Then visit Linda at the Dockside Club and finish her side of the conversation to gain another 10 reputation with her. The order of these two visits does not matter.

Coughing it Up!

Later, during Davy's Finding Old God quest, Albert's condition becomes noticeably worse. After the scene with Davy and the looters, head down to the Plague Doctor's laboratory and ask about his health. The conversation rewards you with another 10 reputation.Albert admits that he is much better at studying illnesses than treating his own and, for the first time, that he genuinely does not want to die. The solution comes through Linda and the refugees' parallel questline, so if the remedy is not available yet, continue with our complete Linda quest walkthrough.

Heal the Healer

Two conditions must be met before this quest becomes available: speak with Albert during Coughing it Up! and deliver 3 Po-ta-to to Linda during Hot Potato Delivery. The potatoes come from the refugees who settle near the drained floodgate. It does not matter which requirement you complete first.Return to Albert and tell him that Linda has found a possible remedy. The doctor agrees to try the treatment at the Dockside Club, and the conversation rewards you with another 10 reputation. Do not leave to handle other tasks afterward. Follow him directly to the Dockside Club. The treatment scene begins automatically when you enter. Linda prepares the remedy, and after some time Albert confirms that his cough is gone. If Linda's Wealthy Clients quest has already been completed by this point, the next shared chapter becomes available almost immediately.

Love Story

To begin Love Story, you need to complete Albert's treatment and Linda's Wealthy Clients quest. Once both conditions are met, sleep once and return to the Dockside Club. Albert will now move in with Linda permanently, and the scene unlocks the A Dangerous Romance achievement along with two gift objectives.Prepare 10 Alchemy Flasks II for Albert and give them to him through the corresponding dialogue option. All ten items are consumed, your reputation with him increases by another 10, and you receive 3 Town Gratitude. Linda also needs Chocolate, so the other half of the quest is covered in our complete Linda quest walkthrough. After completing the gift objective, your reputation with Albert can reach 90. This is enough for his standard final story check if you chose to return the Red Eye to the Old God.

Lust and Envy

Albert and Linda's final stage appears during the Eye, Red Eye quest. Find the couple at the Dockside Club and ask them to help restore the portal. If you returned the Red Eye to the Old God, you need 90 reputation with both Albert and Linda. The reputation is only checked and is not consumed. If the Red Eye remains with the Keeper and you chose the alternate path, both characters need 100 reputation. An additional objective appears first: craft Luxury Drapes at the Sewing Table using 20 Lace and give them to Albert. This increases reputation with both characters by 10 and awards 2 Town Gratitude, after which the 100-reputation check becomes available.Once the requirements are met, Albert and Linda agree to help with the final preparations. The couple also unlocks recipes for the Final Battle, leaving you to secure the support of Jack and Gunter, as well as Agatha and Herbert.
