Heffry and Jeffry are twin brothers in Graveyard Keeper 2 who live south of the village in Twins' Land. They are connected to several useful early-game mechanics: the brothers give you your first fishing rod and later unlock advanced fishing. The twins also help Jack reach the port and, after the election, involve the Keeper in a rather questionable solution to the town's budget crisis. This guide covers all of Heffry and Jeffry's quests and the items required to complete them.
Two Peas in a Pod
The quest becomes available after completing Herm's Supply and Demand quest and asking how else you can help with the village supplies. After finishing the conversation in his shop, cross the bridge south of the village and head to Twins' Land. Jack may appear along the way if you have already slept after meeting Herm, but his scene does not interfere with the brothers' quest. We cover Herm's related early tasks separately in our walkthrough of all Herm's quests.Image unavailableOn your first visit, you will find the twins in the middle of another argument. Talk to Heffry first and ask about the fishing rod, then continue south and find Jeffry near the Hangman's House. Wait until he reaches the correct spot if necessary, as the dialogue may not appear while he is still moving. Jeffry explains that the brothers sank their boat along with the tableware intended for Herm and asks you to replace the lost cargo. You need 6 Clay Plates to complete the quest. Do not confuse them with Clay Urns or Ceramic Plates. You specifically need Clay Plates, so there is no need to build a Kiln for this quest.
How to Build a Potter's Wheel
If you do not have the required workstation yet, first research The Concept of Stone, then unlock Pottery I for 10 red and 5 green tech points. Pottery I unlocks both the Potter's Wheel and the Clay Plate recipe.Image unavailableUse the building table in your yard to place the Potter's Wheel. It requires 2 Wooden Planks and 1 Piece of Stone. After placing the frame, finish construction with a Hammer and Building Mastery 2. If the game does not let you complete the workstation or use its recipes, the problem is usually your Mastery level rather than a missing Technology. We cover this system in more detail in our guide to Technologies, Mastery, and crafting in Graveyard Keeper 2.
Where to Get Clay and Make 6 Plates
The plates require ordinary Clay. One of the nearest deposits is south of the graveyard. Take a Shovel and interact with the deposit, but keep in mind that digging Clay checks your Building Mastery despite the tool being a Shovel. Increasing Farming Mastery, which you may have needed for Herm's wheat quest, will not help here. One cycle at the Potter's Wheel consumes 2 Clay and produces 3 Clay Plates. This means you only need two batches, or 4 Clay in total, to complete the quest. Once production is finished, collect all 6 Clay Plates and make sure you do not sell them on the way back.Image unavailableReturn to Twins' Land and give the pottery to either brother. They will take the 6 Clay Plates and give you a Basic Rod. You will also receive 5 village reputation, a Story, and Town Gratitude. The rod is also required to continue Herm's The Quiet Art quest, where you need to catch a Roach and a Gudgeon, so keep it accessible. We cover fishing spots, bait, and tackle separately in our Graveyard Keeper 2 fishing guide.
Jack in a Boat
The twins also take part in Jack's early questline. After giving him 5 Wooden Planks for the boat, talk to the brothers nearby and ask them to become his rowers. The conversation requires 10 village reputation, but this is only a reputation check and does not consume any points. The easiest way to reach the requirement is through two early quests: Herm's Planted and Delivered gives five village reputation, and completing Two Peas in a Pod provides another five. If you have already earned enough reputation from other sources, you do not need to complete anything else specifically for this check.Image unavailableOnce the brothers agree, return to Jack. He also needs 5 Bronze Details before the boat is ready, so recruiting the twins alone does not complete the quest. The full boat-building process, required materials, and the following wait for Jack's letter are covered in our walkthrough of all Jack's quests.
Plenty of Fish in the Sea
After winning the first battle, the twins return to Twins' Land and tell you about a giant catfish that got away because their fishing line was too weak. This starts another short but useful quest. The brothers need 3 Flax Thread. Bring the items to either Heffry or Jeffry, as both can accept the delivery. As a reward, you receive Town Gratitude, a Story, and automatically unlock Fishing IV, which includes the recipes for the Pro Rod and Live Bait.Image unavailableFishing IV normally costs 150 green tech points in the Technology Tree, so completing this quest saves a significant amount of research. It is definitely worth doing as soon as it becomes available. Our Graveyard Keeper 2 fishing guide explains where to get Flax Thread and how to use the new rod and bait.
Press for Cash
The twins' final major quest becomes available after the election. Return to Twins' Land and congratulate Heffry. The brothers discover that the town budget is almost empty and suggest a rather direct solution: print more money. In exchange for your help, they promise you a Mysterious Chest they once pulled from the river.First, go to the Village Tavern and speak with Januarius about the budget problem. The conversation unlocks the Printed Money recipe, and he asks you to produce 20 banknotes.
How to Print 20 Banknotes
Printed Money is made at a Printing Press and requires Book Writing Mastery 4. Each craft consumes 10 Clean Paper and 1 Paint, producing 10 Printed Money. To make the required 20 notes, complete the recipe twice. In total, you need 20 Clean Paper and 2 Paint.Return to Januarius with 20 Printed Money. He takes the entire batch, upgrades his shop to the next tier, and gives you 10 Signed Printed Money in return. Take these signed notes back to the twins.Return to Twins' Land and give Heffry or Jeffry the 10 Signed Printed Money. Once the conversation ends, you receive the Mysterious Chest and 3 Town Gratitude. The chest contains 20 Golden nuggets, 6 Golden ingots, and 8 Gems, making this short quest well worth completing even if money is no longer a serious concern by this point. This concludes Heffry and Jeffry's main quests. The twins give you your first fishing rod, help Jack reach the port, unlock Fishing IV, and eventually reward the Keeper handsomely for participating in their highly questionable monetary reform.
