The Axe in Chop a Forest means you no longer have to chop down trees with your bare hands, and it unlocks its own upgrade tree. But buying the tool and upgrading it are two different things, and you'll find Robux offers alongside regular equipment. In this guide, we'll show you where to find the Axe, how to improve your chopping, and the difference between a one-run purchase and a permanent pass.
Where to Find the Axe in Chop a Forest
Look for a wooden cabin marked TOOL SHOP near the starting work area. Head inside and approach the Axe hanging on the wall. Interact with it to open the purchase card. On PC, follow the E - View prompt. The item you want is called Axe. Once you've bought it, you can start upgrading it.Go inside and approach the Axe on the wallGo inside and approach the Axe on the wallIf you don't have enough money, head back to the nearby trees. You can break them with your fists at the start. Knock a tree down, pick up the fallen logs, and carry them to the selling area beside the orange wood chipper. Sell your load and repeat until you've saved the amount shown on the Axe's purchase card. We recommend sticking to nearby trees. Right now, you need your first tool, not a long hike across the forest carrying a handful of logs.Sell your load and repeat the tripSell your load and repeat the tripDon't look for the Axe purchase only in the upgrades menu. You need to buy the tool itself in the cabin before you can spend money on its stats. The on-screen Shop button and the physical TOOL SHOP display are two different places. If all you can see are paid offers, return to the Axe on the wall and open its purchase card.
How to Unlock and Upgrade the Axe
Once you've bought the Axe, open Upgrades with Tab on PC. Switch to the tool section and check the available upgrades. If you see question marks and a requirement to buy the tool instead, you haven't purchased the base item yet. Simply opening the shop display doesn't mean you own it.The Axe has three main upgrades:
Sharpness. Increases chopping power so you can bring down trees faster.
Speed. Makes your Axe swings faster.
Hold. Lets you hold down the button to keep chopping instead of clicking for every swing.
Start with Sharpness to reduce the number of hits each tree takes, then add Speed. Buy Hold for convenience. It saves you from constant clicking, but it doesn't replace a stronger tool. You don't have to buy the same number of levels in every upgrade track. If you can't afford the next Sharpness level, sell another load of logs and compare its price with the available Speed upgrade.Start with Sharpness to bring down trees in fewer hitsStart with Sharpness to bring down trees in fewer hitsAfter buying the Axe, don't keep spending everything on fist upgrades out of habit. You've switched tools, so your money is better spent on the upgrade track you're actually using. Keep an eye on your carrying capacity, too. If logs are constantly left on the ground because your backpack is full, another chopping upgrade will only make the pile bigger. Increase your capacity first, then get back to upgrading the Axe.Image unavailable
What's the Difference Between Axe Forever and a Regular Axe?
Axe Forever is a permanent pass that lets you start every new run with an Axe. It's a way to skip buying the starter tool each time, not a separate rare Axe hidden somewhere on the map. If you're happy starting out by earning Coins, you don't need the pass to get an Axe. You can buy one from the in-game display.Axe - One Run is different: it only lasts for a single run. Check the exact name of the offer before paying so you don't confuse it with Forever. We recommend getting comfortable with the regular tool first and deciding whether you plan to start fresh runs often. You don't need a paid shortcut just to try the Axe for the first time.
Other Tools You Shouldn't Confuse With Rare Axes
You'll find other equipment near the Axe, but those items serve different purposes. The Chainsaw is a separate tool with its own upgrades, while the Trial Saw gives you temporary access to a saw. Buying the trial doesn't mean you've found a new Axe or permanently unlocked the Chainsaw. Check how long the offer lasts before paying.Another example is the Rainbowmaker, which turns felled trees into rainbow versions. It has its own shop offer, so don't look for it under the regular Axe's Sharpness upgrades. Clawman claws also belong to a separate class. They aren't a rare Axe drop from chopping down trees. Choose your next purchase based on what it actually does: improve the Axe you already own, switch to another tool, or get class-specific equipment.RainbowmakerRainbowmaker
