Sell Fries! Automation Guide: Best Upgrades to Make Money Fast

In Sell Fries! on Roblox, you have to do everything at once: carry potatoes, peel them, cook fries, and serve customers. Automating your restaurant gradually takes some of that work off your hands, but it's easy to waste money on upgrades you don't need yet. In this guide, we'll go over which equipment to buy first, how to increase your earnings, and what to do when your kitchen stops working.

What to Buy First to Automate Your Restaurant

We recommend starting with the Conveyor, Auto Peeler, and your first Potato Robot, then saving up for the Auto Fryer. Together, these purchases take care of collecting, transporting, and cooking potatoes. You'll be able to spend more time at the serving window instead of running between the yard and the kitchen with yet another potato. Selling is still your job, though. Someone has to hand the finished fries to the customer.Buy the main equipment in this order:
  • Conveyor - $60. Moves potatoes from outside into the restaurant. Until you have a robot, you'll need to load the belt yourself.
  • Auto Peeler - $500. Removes the need to peel potatoes by hand every time you prepare a batch.
  • Potato Robots - $1,000. Collect potatoes in the yard and carry them to the Conveyor. You can buy them outside, next to the potato pile.
  • Auto Fryer - $6,000. Takes over cooking the peeled potatoes.
  • Fries Shooter - $12,000. Drives off window anomalies as long as it has ammunition. It's there to protect the restaurant, not replace you at the serving window.
The first four purchases cost $7,560 in total, not counting extra tools and upgrades. That's a useful savings target: you'll know exactly how much you need before cooking can run automatically. You can leave the Fries Shooter for later if you're still managing to close the window yourself when an anomaly appears. There's little reason to delay improving the kitchen for an expensive defense system when your biggest problem is having nobody to fry the potatoes.

How to Earn Enough for Your First Machines

Start by filling a few regular orders. Take a potato from the pile behind the restaurant, peel it completely at the workstation, put it in the fryer, and collect the finished portion. Then hand the fries to the driver at the window. You get paid once the food is delivered. If a potato won't go into the fryer, return to the peeling station and make sure you've finished peeling it.

You can speed up manual work a little before buying the machines. The first Bigger Peel upgrade costs $12 and removes more peel with each movement, while the Bucket costs $100 and holds three potatoes. These cheap purchases make the early game easier without endless trips for a single potato. But once you're close to the $500 needed for the Auto Peeler, we recommend saving the rest. There's not much point putting more money into a manual tool you're about to stop using.

How to Get the Conveyor and Robots Working Together

Once you've bought the Conveyor, go to the section outside and put potatoes on it. You no longer have to carry them through the door one by one: the belt delivers them inside. Add the Auto Peeler, then buy a robot next to the pile. Now the potatoes your helper collects will not only reach the restaurant but also pass through the next stage of processing.

Don't stop collecting potatoes entirely just because you have your first robot. While it carries small batches, you can still toss extra potatoes onto the belt yourself and stock the kitchen faster. Watch for bottlenecks: if you already have plenty of peeled potatoes, focus on frying and selling them. Another mountain of potatoes beside the fryer won't increase your earnings on its own.Robots have their own upgrades: Basket increases carrying capacity, Speed makes them move faster, and Helpers adds more workers. First, see how well stocked your kitchen is. If the Auto Fryer is waiting for potatoes, improve delivery. If potatoes are piling up before cooking, your money is better spent on the next machine. A second collector is especially useful once the rest of the equipment can handle the incoming batches.

Is the Vacuum Worth Buying?

The Vacuum costs $1,000 and can collect up to eight potatoes at a time at its base level. It's useful if you're still actively helping your robots: a single trip lets you bring back considerably more than the starting Bucket. If you're constantly running short of potatoes, it's a reasonable purchase. But if one robot already keeps up with your manual cooking, save for the Auto Fryer first.

Check your starting equipment, too. Some classes begin with a Vacuum already equipped. In that case, you can put the money straight into machines. A regular Vacuum and a few robots are enough to build up the restaurant, so there's no need to buy the Golden Vacuum early. Especially if doing so would leave you cooking everything by hand for much longer.

How to Make More Money Selling Fries

While collecting potatoes, keep an eye out for golden and crystal potatoes. Fries made from them sell for more than regular fries, and they go through the same production process. If you spot one in the pile, pick it up first. Just don't shut down the entire kitchen to spend ages searching for a rare potato. Ordinary portions pay for upgrades too.

Try handing customers several finished portions at once. You'll earn more money per visit to the window and spend less time stepping away from cooking. This isn't an extra multiplier for a larger order. You're simply selling more food at the same time. Keep an eye on the driver's patience. If they're about to leave, hand over what you have instead of cooking one more batch.

Once deliveries and cooking are running smoothly, buy Cash Boost from the kitchen shop. Its first level costs $1,000 and raises your payout multiplier from x1 to x1.25. We recommend getting it after the first machines, when you're making sales regularly. If you're still spending most of your time peeling individual potatoes, fix that bottleneck first. A higher selling price won't help you sell fries you haven't had time to cook.

When to Use the Money Potion and Flamethrower

You can find a Money Potion in the shop across the road. Use it just before handing over a large batch you've already prepared so the boost applies to a worthwhile sale. Drinking the potion and then heading out to collect raw potatoes isn't the best way to spend a temporary bonus. Prepare your stock first, then activate the boost.Another useful find is the Flamethrower. It lets you burn potatoes in the pile and earn money while clearing it faster. You can combine it with the Money Potion, too. But the street shop's inventory changes, so build a restaurant that can make money without relying on this purchase. And look both ways before crossing the road. Getting hit by a car is worse than missing out on one more serving of fries.

Why Your Automated Kitchen Stops Working

Machines take care of repetitive work, but your restaurant still needs attention. If fewer finished portions are coming through, follow the production line from the potato pile to the fryer and find where it has stopped. Don't buy another robot until you've checked whether the one you already own is working. Often, you need to fix a problem rather than throw money at it.

  • The power is out. Automated equipment stops working. Find the illuminated electrical box outside and connect the wires in the puzzle to restore power.
  • A robot is stuck. Go to the helper indicated by the warning and interact with it. Once freed, it can get back to collecting potatoes.
  • A monster is eating potatoes by the Conveyor. Hold the interaction button to chase it away and stop losing supplies.
  • The Fries Shooter is out of ammo. Reload it with fries. While it's empty, you'll have to deal with the window anomaly yourself by closing the metal shutter.
Before the night shift, stock some potatoes inside and check the Fries Shooter if you've bought one. If the RUN INSIDE! warning appears, head back to the kitchen. Repairs can wait until it's safe to go outside again. Surviving the attack and getting the production line running again is better for business than dying on your way to a stuck robot. Automation gives you more time to react to danger, but it doesn't make walking around the yard any safer.

How to Divide the Work in Co-op

Before buying machines, split up the jobs. One player collects potatoes, another cooks them, and a third serves customers at the window. With two players, put one in charge of the kitchen and sales and have the other deliver raw potatoes. That way, nobody heads to the pile at the same time and leaves the finished fries and a waiting customer unattended. Once you have the Auto Peeler and robots, rethink those roles. The player with less to do can help collect potatoes and fix breakdowns. In the morning, choose an upgrade based on what slowed down the previous shift. If cooking takes too long, a fryer speed upgrade will help. If deliveries can't keep up, improve the robots. Be more careful with perks that come with drawbacks, especially ones that raise your earnings at the cost of more frequent attacks. First, make sure the restaurant can survive the night comfortably. Then you can start giving it extra problems in exchange for more money.
