Red Walker's investigation in Silver Pines has three possible conclusions, and the final meeting with Eddie Velvet is only the beginning of the choice. The shortest route lets you complete the contract and leave town. The other two force Red to confront his past, collect Mementos, or return to the Rabbit Hole, where another boss is waiting. Below, we break down all three endings, Leave, Live, and Rest, find the items required for the hidden ending, and explain how to see the whole story without completing three full playthroughs.Silver Pines
How many endings does Silver Pines have and how do you unlock them?
Silver Pines has three endings: Leave, Live, and Rest. Leave is available only if you decide to kill Eddie. For the other two, you need to let him live. The game then allows you to return to town and complete one of two additional requirements:- Leave - kill Eddie Velvet. No additional items are required. After the conversation, return to Miner Diner and leave town in the car.
- Live - spare Eddie and burn all 25 Mementos. You need the full collection, then return to the Outskirts, speak to the man by the puddle, and use the Furnace in the nearby shack.
- Rest - spare Eddie, collect two Gold Rings, and return to the Rabbit Hole. One ring is on Alice's body, while the other comes from the Ring Box opened with five Gold Stars. The route ends with a secret boss fight.
How to unlock all three endings in one playthrough
Do not rush to waste ammunition before the finale, and collect the items needed for the two additional endings in advance. You will primarily need all 25 Mementos for Live and five Gold Stars for Rest. It is easiest to gather them while exploring the districts once you already have the tools required to break walls, open manholes, and reach hidden caches.Follow this order:- Progress through the story to Mount Siah Kopa and Thelend Broadcasting. Prepare the three metal spikes used to trigger the final battle by the tree.
- Defeat the story boss. After the fight, pick up the Polaroid Negative near the passage. It is one of the 25 Mementos.
- Near the location of the final meeting with Eddie, find the save phone. Save before speaking to him and remember which slot you used.
- Choose Kill Eddie Velvet first and get the Leave ending.
- Reload the save from before the conversation, choose Leave this time, collect any missing Mementos, and go to the Furnace for Live.
- Reload the save before Eddie again, leave him alive, take Alice's ring, and head to the Rabbit Hole with both rings for Rest.
Leave ending: How to kill Eddie Velvet and leave town
This is the simplest ending. After Thelend Broadcasting and the final fight with the creature near the tree, move to the right until you find Eddie Velvet beside the dead tree. Save the game at the nearby phone before approaching him. Then speak to the musician and continue the conversation until two choices appear.Choose Kill Eddie Velvet. Red completes the job that brought him to Silver Pines. After the scene, he appears near Miner Diner in the Outskirts. Do not quit the game yet. The ending is only complete after the final phone call and departure.Use the phone beside the diner and finish the conversation. Then interact with the car and choose Leave Silver Pines. The final cutscene begins. This route requires neither the Gold Rings nor the complete Memento collection.Red leaves town, but his decision does not provide a clear answer to every mystery in the investigation. It is unlikely that simply getting in the car and driving away will make him forget what he saw.Live ending: How to collect and burn all 25 Mementos
For this ending, Eddie must stay alive, and Red needs the complete collection of 25 Mementos. These small items usually provide passive bonuses such as faster reloads, stronger attacks, improved dodging, or more Endurance. Their real purpose becomes clear at the end, when Red has to decide whether to keep holding on to the past. How to enter the Live route after meeting Eddie
Reload the save from before the final conversation and choose Leave instead of killing the musician. Red returns to the central part of town. Inspect Alice Baker's body in the water and take the ring, then continue toward the Outskirts. The ring is not the key requirement for Live, but it will be useful if you decide to unlock Rest afterward.Return to Silver Pines Outskirts. West of Rodney's General Store, find the man standing by the puddle and washing his hands. Speak to him until the conversation is exhausted. Then go to the small nearby shack, enter it, and inspect the burning Furnace. A black cat is nearby. If you have collected all 25 Mementos, interacting with the Furnace gives you the option to burn them. Confirm the choice and watch the scene. This triggers the Live ending. If the option does not appear, check your missing Mementos first instead of searching for another character or another fire.We have a separate guide to all 25 Mementos.Secret Rest ending: Where to find both Gold Rings
Rest is the longest ending route. Killing Eddie does not work here either. After the conversation, you need to return to town, obtain two Gold Rings, and place them behind the stage at the Rabbit Hole. One ring can only be obtained after meeting Eddie, while the other is already hidden inside a locked Ring Box. To open it, you need five Gold Stars hidden around town.Where to get the Ring Box for the five Gold Stars
Return to the starting Miner Diner and enter the restroom. Near the sink and mirror is a Ring Box with five star-shaped slots. Pick it up. This is not just a collectible. Without the box, the stars you find cannot be turned into the first Gold Ring.As you explore the town, insert the stars into the box. Add them one at a time through the inventory. Once all five are in place, the box opens and gives you the first Gold Ring. Do not sell or discard it because you will need it after the final story choice. All five Gold Stars: Exact locations
- Rabbit Hole bar. Check the table before the stage among the furniture in the main room. The first star is in plain sight and can be collected during your first visit.
- Room 3 at the Crimson Bear Motel. Get the Sledgehammer and return to the lighthouse south of the ferry. Break through the obstruction, climb up, and find the Room 3 key. Back at the motel, open the room, then enter 6671 on the panel to get the star.
- Cowboy after the church district. After finishing the story events around the cemetery and church, return to the Quiet Hour cafe in Downtown. Find the injured Cowboy, speak to him, and pick up the star beside his body.
- Girl in the yellow raincoat on Mount Siah Kopa. While climbing toward the northern building and Thelend Broadcasting, speak to the girl near the light. Wait for her scene to finish and collect the star she leaves behind.
- Pit near the digger's trailer. Once you have collected the bells for the cable car, return to the trailer belonging to the man who keeps digging. Take the Shovel from inside, climb down into the pit, and continue digging to find the final star.
How to get the second Gold Ring from Alice Baker
Save near the final tree and speak to Eddie. Choose Leave, allowing the musician to live. After returning to Downtown, do not head straight for the bar. First inspect the water where Alice Baker's body is located. Interact with her and take the Gold Ring from her finger. You should now have both rings in your inventory: the one from the Ring Box and the one from Alice. If either is missing, return to the corresponding step. Sparing Eddie by itself does not unlock Rest. The route begins only after both rings are installed.Where to place the rings in the Rabbit Hole
Go to the Rabbit Hole, move behind the bar, and head toward the stage. In the backstage room among the red curtains, there is a wall with two ring-shaped indentations. Insert both items. Red is then transported into a distorted version of the bar where the final sequence becomes available.First speak to the woman in red, then talk to the bartender. Before entering the next door, search the room with supplies. What comes next is not another normal conversation but a long fight. Pick up healing and ammunition, check your weapons, and only then continue to the next character. How to defeat the secret boss and get Rest
The first part of the encounter is a chase. The creature pursues Red, so keep moving to the right and do not stop near obstacles. When hanging pieces of meat appear in the way, dodge around them to avoid losing speed. In the room with the chairs, watch the floating enemy and move out of the blast area in time.If you reach a barricaded door, use the Sledgehammer. Use it again to break the final obstacle with the padlock. Do not try to kill the pursuer during this section. Your objective is to reach the next scene. After a short sequence involving a collapsing floor, the full boss fight begins.During the second phase, play more carefully. The boss extends a sharp growth from its head. When you see this attack being prepared, crouch. Dust appears before debris falls from the ceiling, making dangerous areas easier to identify. Stay out of poisonous zones and do not stand directly beside the creature, or you will also need to avoid its claw attacks.Attack after the boss finishes its move. Land two or three hits or fire a short burst, then immediately prepare to dodge again. If ammunition is low, save it for safe openings instead of firing blindly during the boss's animations. Defeating the creature triggers the final Rest scene. What is the difference between Leave, Live, and Rest?
In Leave, Red completes the client's order, kills Eddie, and leaves Silver Pines. The investigation is formally over, but the protagonist never receives a clear answer to everything that happened. The ending deliberately feels uncomfortable. The town is behind him, but too much remains unsaid. In Live, Red spares Eddie and gives up the collection of objects he has been holding onto throughout the journey. Burning the Mementos leads to a scene involving water and Red's rescue. This ending focuses on the possibility of letting go of the past and continuing to live.Rest goes further than the other two. The two rings connect the final sequence to Alice's story, while the journey through the distorted Rabbit Hole forces Red to confront what he has been trying to escape. After defeating the secret boss, the ending leads to a conversation with Alice and a different conclusion to his story. This is where the themes of guilt, memory, and finding peace are stated most clearly. You do not have to interpret every strange detail in Silver Pines literally. The game intentionally leaves room for interpretation. The requirements for all three endings, however, are concrete and depend on your actions rather than a hidden morality meter. Why the ending you want is not unlocking
If the game sends you in the wrong direction after speaking to Eddie, check these conditions:- You got Leave instead of Live. At the final choice, select Leave, meaning walk away from Eddie, rather than Kill Eddie Velvet. Killing him starts a different ending.
- The Furnace does not offer the option to burn the Mementos. Live requires the complete set of 25 Mementos. Check boss rewards and the Polaroid Negative after the final battle. Remember that only one of the two boutonniere variants is required.
- The Ring Box will not open. You need exactly five Gold Stars. Add them to the box one by one.
- The second Gold Ring is missing. After sparing Eddie, return to Downtown and inspect Alice's body in the water. She has the ring.
- You cannot enter the hidden Rabbit Hole section. Make sure both Gold Rings are in your inventory. Use them behind the stage on the wall with two indentations.
- Rest did not count. Installing the rings only opens the secret sequence. You still need to complete the chase and defeat the boss.
- You cannot unlock all three ending achievements in one run. Return to the save made at the phone before meeting Eddie. If you overwrote it after the final choice, you will need an earlier save or another playthrough.
