The Old God appears near the end of Graveyard Keeper 2 and is directly connected to restoring the magical portal. Your decision regarding his Red Eye determines how difficult it will be to prepare the six allies for the finale. You can either reach 90 reputation with each of them or take the longer route and raise all six relationships to the maximum of 100. This choice does not change the Final Battle itself or the ending.This guide covers the entire Old God questline, both Red Eye paths, the additional tasks for all six characters, and everything you need to do before the final assault on the palace.
Friend or Foe
The quest begins after you meet two requirements. First, complete Finding Old God, where Davy and his people reach Mauritzio's cheese cellar in the Town Sewers. Then install the Lust portal fragment in Gunter's portal. The previous route through the sewers is covered in detail in our walkthrough of all Davy's quests, while the locations of all seven fragments are listed in our Graveyard Keeper 2 portal fragment guide.Once both requirements are met, sleep at home. During the following sequence, the Keeper receives the Red Eye, which belongs to the Old God. Return to the Town Sewers and head to the wall of Mauritzio's cheese cellar.Interact with the sealed passage. The game only checks whether you have the Red Eye, so the item remains in your inventory for now. A doorway will appear, allowing you to finally meet the Old God. Watch the scene to receive a Story and unlock the The Ancient One achievement.Should You Return or Keep the Red Eye?
Do not hand over the Red Eye immediately. First, ask the Old God about every available topic. There are seven questions in total, and the option to keep the item only appears after you have gone through all of them. If the dialogue only lets you return the eye, you have missed one of the questions.You then need to choose between two paths:- Return the Red Eye: the Old God takes the item, and you need 90 reputation with each of the six allies for the finale.
- Keep the Red Eye: the item stays with the Keeper, the Old God moves into your attic, and the requirement increases to 100 reputation with each ally.
Eye, Red Eye: If You Return the Item
If you return the Red Eye, the Old God gives you the Prayer for Old God. Go to the church on the next Day of Wrath, interact with the pulpit, and select this specific prayer. Complete the sermon and make sure to close the results window afterward.Three quests will then become available. You need the support of all six key characters, with at least 90 reputation for each:- Gluttony and Pride: Jack and Gunter;
- Lust and Envy: Linda and Albert;
- Wrath and Sloth: Agatha and Herbert.
Eye, Red Eye: If You Keep the Item
If you keep the Red Eye, you will be able to repair the attic in your house instead of performing the Old God's sermon. Go to the building table and construct the Attic using the following materials:- 16 Wooden Planks;
- 8 Iron Parts;
- 6 Carved Stones.
First, Raise Everyone's Reputation to 90
Before the additional quests become available, you need to complete the regular gift quests for all three pairs. For Jack and Gunter, this is I Love You, Man, which requires a Prosthetic Hand and a Small Printing Press. For Linda and Albert, it is Love Story, which requires Chocolate and 10 Alchemy Flasks II. Agatha and Herbert receive their final regular gifts during Well-Deserved Rest: the Trilogy and Speech Writing Device.After all six gifts have been handed over, the Old God will call you back to the attic. During the conversation, you learn that 90% trust is not enough while his eye remains with the Keeper. If you still want to keep the item, continue along this route.How to Get 100 Reputation with Jack and Gunter
After speaking with the Old God, three hidden Talents appear in the Keeper's blue Talent branch. Each costs 1 blue Talent Point. These Talents do not provide a direct stat bonus. Instead, each one triggers an additional scene and quest for the corresponding pair.Learn Gluttony and Pride and go to sleep. After the dark dream, visit Jack and Gunter near the Main Pier. They will ask for an Elegant Prosthetic Hand.The item is crafted at a Steel Anvil using 2 Engineering Details, 2 Steel Screws, and 2 Special Wood. Crafting requires Smithing Mastery 8. Special Wood can be purchased from Harold after progressing through his Organic Music quest.Give the Elegant Prosthetic Hand to Jack. Both Jack and Gunter immediately gain 10 reputation, bringing them to the required 100.How to Get 100 Reputation with Agatha and Herbert
Learn the hidden Talent Wrath and Sloth, then go to sleep again. After waking up, visit Agatha and Herbert at the Crossroads.This time, you need to craft a Comfortable Chair. The recipe becomes available during this quest and requires 3 Special Wood and 3 Steel Screws. Craft it at a Woodworking Workbench II with Building Mastery 15.The quest journal may point you toward Agatha, but the Comfortable Chair must actually be handed to Herbert. After giving him the item, both characters gain 10 reputation and reach 100.How to Get 100 Reputation with Linda and Albert
The final hidden Talent is Lust and Envy. Learn it and sleep once more to trigger the corresponding dark dream, then head to the Dockside Club.The pair asks for Luxury Drapes. Craft them at the Sewing Table using 20 Lace. The recipe requires Building Mastery 8 and only becomes available after this stage of the quest begins.Give the Luxury Drapes to Albert. Both Albert and Linda gain 10 reputation, while the Keeper also receives 2 Town Gratitude.Once you have delivered all three additional gifts, all six allies will be at 100 reputation. Speak with each pair again and ask them to help restore the portal. After the third pair agrees, The Last Battle becomes available.The Last Battle
The route to the Royal Palace must already be open before you can begin the final battle. It becomes available after installing the Wrath portal fragment and progressing through Davy's Palace Politics quest. If the marker near the palace has not appeared yet, complete this stage first with our portal fragment guide.The Final Battle requires 144 Defense Power and allows you to deploy four squads. Barricades and Archer Towers can also be used, so you do not need to reach the full requirement with fighters alone. Before starting, check your hired mercenaries, available squads, and prepared defenses. All sources of Defense Power and battle restrictions are covered in the Graveyard Keeper 2 guide to Defense Power and battles.Most story battles can only be started on the Day of Sloth, and the Final Battle is no exception. Go to the final battle camp near the palace, deploy your squads and defenses, and begin the attack. There is no reason to conserve Healing Potions or your best combat consumables here, as there are no major Defense Power requirements after this operation.Winning the battle rewards you with 3 Keys for Looters, 4 Zombie goo, and 3 Town Gratitude. Continue toward the palace afterward instead of returning home, as several mandatory story scenes still remain.How to Enter the Palace
The method used to open the secret passage depends on your decision regarding the Red Eye. If the Keeper kept the item, you can open the passage yourself. If you returned the eye, the Old God will appear near the entrance and help you get inside.Inside the palace, you will meet another Keeper. After speaking with him, he gives you the Greed portal fragment, the seventh and final piece of the device. Your inventory capacity also increases, and the The Other Keeper achievement unlocks.How to Restore the Portal
After leaving the palace, the entire group automatically returns to Gunter's tower. Do not try to leave immediately, as the game temporarily blocks the exit until the scene involving the assembled characters and their wishes is complete.Once you regain control, approach the portal frame and install the Greed portal fragment. The fragment disappears from your inventory, all seven pieces connect, and you unlock the The End of the Journey achievement.This completes the Old God questline and fully restores the portal. Your decision regarding the Red Eye changes the route to the finale, the reputation requirements, and several additional quests and scenes, but it does not create a different Final Battle or a separate version of the restored portal.Sign in to leave a comment or rate this post.
