NVIDIA has announced a major update for DLSS 5. The new 3D-Guided Neural Rendering model runs twice as fast as the September version, uses 20% less VRAM at 4K, and will debut in its updated form in NBA 2K27.NVIDIA has made the DLSS 5 neural model more compact, reducing its footprint by 24% to roughly 118 million parameters. Visual fidelity remains comparable, while GPU overhead is now half that of the September version. According to the company, the model has become 10 times faster overall since the technology was first announced in March. The update arrives on October 16. NBA 2K27 will be the first game to receive the faster DLSS 5 model on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, RTX Spark laptops, and GeForce NOW, with frame rates increasing by up to 1.4X.Image unavailableSupport will then expand to other games. Hogwarts Legacy will receive DLSS 5 on November 5. Avalanche Software has specifically tuned the implementation to preserve the game's artistic intent, and character faces in the newer footage are much closer to the original look than in the March demonstration. Where Winds Meet will add the technology in late November.
