How to unlock Stigmas and all four slots
In the Global launch version, the Stigma system opens at level 22 after the Ascension quest The One Who Hears the Voice. Reaching level 22 by itself is not enough. Complete the corresponding story step and then check the Skills menu. The first slot lets you equip one Stigma, with three additional slots opening as your character levels.- Level 22: first Stigma slot after unlocking the system.
- Level 27: second slot.
- Level 32: third slot.
- Level 37: fourth slot.
How to upgrade Stigmas
Stigma progression uses a separate pool of points. These are different from normal active and passive skill points and from Daevanion Crystals. The first Stigma level costs one point, and the price rises at later ranges. Because the cost increases sharply, spreading points across several useful skills and targeting important specialization breakpoints is usually better than blindly dumping everything into one Stigma.- Levels 1-5: one point per level, five points total.
- Levels 6-10: two points per level, 15 points total from level 1 to 10.
- Levels 11-15: four points per level, 35 points total from level 1 to 15.
- Levels 16-20: eight points per level, 75 points total from level 1 to 20.
Where to get Stigma Points
Your first points come from unlocking the system and continuing to level. Additional sources are tied to activity shops, including the Abyss, Nightmare content, and the Shugo Festival. These activities use different currencies, so check which shop can provide the points you need for your next upgrade instead of assuming one resource can be exchanged for another.Do not expect normal story leveling alone to finish four developed Stigmas. Taking four skills to the level-20 breakpoint costs 300 points in total, making this a long-term progression system. With a limited pool, testing several functional combinations is usually more valuable than overinvesting immediately in one skill. Respec options can return spent points, but always check the current cost and conditions in the reset interface before confirming. How to choose Stigmas for PvE, solo play, and PvP
The builds below are starting recommendations based on the role each skill fills rather than permanent best-in-slot lists for every party. Group PvE values abilities that support your assigned role and interact well with your teammates. Solo play may justify replacing group utility with personal healing, defense, or another attack. PvP puts more value on control, anti-heal, survivability, and tools that prevent an opponent from acting freely.Change your equipped set outside combat and pay attention to any cooldown restrictions when swapping. Before all four slots unlock, choose the abilities that solve your immediate problem. A tank may need Taunt before another damage skill, while a character leveling alone may benefit more from an offensive Stigma. Do not spread points across four skills automatically when your current level only lets you equip one or two of them.Gladiator: AoE damage and enemy debuffs
- Wrath Wave: an area attack with Knockdown potential.
- Rage Burst: an offensive skill that weakens the enemy and increases your PvE damage output.
- Zikel's Blessing: a temporary boost to Attack and Accuracy.
- Blade Toss: a ranged attack that reduces the target's Defense and Incoming Heal.
Templar: threat control and party protection
- Taunt: a core tanking tool for controlling enemy attention.
- Nezekan's Shield: provides a Protective Shield for you and nearby party members.
- Empyrean Lord's Punishment: an area attack with Stun potential.
- Executing Blade: an area attack that can reduce enemy Defense.
Assassin: marks and short burst windows
- Savage Fang: an attack that helps build marks quickly.
- Triniel's Dagger: a strike that benefits from attacking from behind.
- Illusive Clone: adds extra pressure during an offensive burst window.
- Aerial Bind: control tied to accumulated marks.
Ranger: ranged damage and control
- Arrow Storm: an area attack with Stun potential.
- Explosive Arrow: area damage that becomes stronger against slowed or restrained targets.
- Vaizel's Authority: temporarily increases Attack.
- Griffon Arrow: hits multiple targets and applies additional damage afterward.
Sorcerer: elemental buffs and burst damage
- Glacial Smite: a strong Water-element area attack.
- Fire Wall: deals damage inside a selected area.
- Element Enhancement: increases Fire and Water Attack.
- Divine Burst: a Fire attack with high Stagger Gauge damage.

- Absolution: restores HP and provides cleansing utility.
- Summon Resurrection: resurrects a fallen party member despite the unusual wording of the skill name.
Chanter: buffs and defensive support

- Power of the Storm: increases Combat Speed and reduces skill cooldowns for you and nearby party members.
- Marchutan's Wrath: an attack that opens a follow-up combo opportunity.
- Impeding Authority: provides a Protective Shield for you and the group.
How to know when it is time to change your Stigma build
Look at why the run is failing. If the party dies during one dangerous mechanic, extra protection, cleansing, or recovery can be more valuable than another damage skill. If the fight is safe but takes too long, review your offensive Stigmas and the next specialization breakpoints. In PvP, also evaluate whether your setup can catch a target, interrupt its actions, and survive the response.Your first working loadout does not need to remain permanent. Keep understandable presets for normal quests, your dungeon role, and PvP. After changing the distribution, confirm that the intended Stigmas are actually equipped and that you have enough points to reach the effect you were targeting. That is much more useful than mechanically copying a build made for another party composition and another progression level.Sign in to leave a comment or rate this post.
