You can earn Kina in AION 2 through quests, dungeons, open-world hunting, gathering, crafting, and selling tradeable materials. The important part is that regular Kina and Kina (Bound) are not interchangeable for every purpose, while Market profit depends on demand, listing costs, and taxes. This guide explains where to start, what resources are worth checking for sale, and how to measure actual profit instead of looking only at the number on a listing.

Regular Kina vs. Kina (Bound): what is the difference?

The English Global client calls the currency Kina, although many players still search for it using the older spelling Kinah. AION 2 separates it into regular and bound forms. Kina (Bound) can pay for many NPC services and character-progression costs, but it cannot replace regular Kina when buying items from the player Market. A large combined balance therefore does not automatically mean you can afford an expensive weapon listed by another player. This guide covers the Global launch environment as of October 5, 2026. NC split the currency sources in the Asian version earlier in 2026, and the same basic distinction is present in Global. Quests, Duty rewards, NPC-related sources, and many one-time progression rewards commonly pay Kina (Bound), while regular Kina is tied more closely to player trading, monster hunting, and reward cubes that consume Odyle Energy. Always check the exact reward label in the Global client instead of copying a Korean farming table without verifying it.
  • Quests, Regional rewards, and many NPC-related rewards: primarily useful sources of Kina (Bound) for progression expenses.
  • Reward cubes from Conquest, Transcendence, and other Odyle Energy activities: important sources of regular Kina when that reward is included.
  • Market sales: turn tradeable materials and items into regular Kina.
  • Open-world hunting: an additional source of regular Kina whose efficiency depends on actual drops and any active limits.

Where to start farming Kina

Before level 45, we recommend prioritizing the story and completing useful quests already on your route. This gives you EXP, unlocks character systems, and builds a starting pool of currency and materials at the same time. Gathering along the way is worthwhile, but repeatedly returning to one early resource spot can delay access to much more profitable endgame activities. On Global, the Market unlocks at level 45.After that, divide your money-making into two categories: reliable activity rewards and selling items to other players. The first depends less on demand, while the second can pay much more when you understand your server's economy. Do not spend your entire balance crafting an item simply because another player listed a similar one at a very high price. An asking price is not proof that anyone is actually buying it.

Duty Missions and Sealed Dungeons

Duty Missions are useful as a repeatable source of Kina (Bound) once the system is available. Choose objectives that overlap with activities you already plan to do, such as hunting or clearing current content. Paying to reroll missions reduces your net profit. Several unnecessary rerolls can make a convenient-looking objective worse than simply completing the original one.Sealed Dungeons provide first-clear rewards and useful progression resources. For a new account or underdeveloped character, those one-time rewards are valuable, but they should not be counted as an infinite daily income source once already claimed. Mark which locations you have completed and return to those you skipped because of level requirements. If your only goal is money, include the travel time when deciding whether an old first-clear reward is still worth the detour.

Dungeons: how to choose the most profitable route

For regular Kina, check the reward cube for the exact Conquest or higher-tier activity you plan to run. The same dungeon can provide different rewards depending on the mode. Winning the boss fight is only part of the calculation because you also need enough Odyle Energy to claim the cube. A clear without an available paid reward claim is not equivalent to a full farming run.The best starting dungeon is usually the one your group can clear quickly and consistently while still providing gear you need. A higher tier is not automatically more profitable over an entire evening if group formation takes longer or repeated wipes reduce the number of completed runs. Do several full clears and compare regular Kina, useful materials, and time spent. Treat the sale value of a rare drop as bonus income rather than something you are guaranteed to receive every run. Also check tradeable materials used in Draconic crafting. Wrathful Mind, Wrathful Will, and Wrathful Ego are used in recipes, but their sources and availability differ by content tier. Do not assume every mode of the same dungeon pays the same material set. Before committing to a farm, compare the reward list for the exact mode with current Market prices on your server.

Which resources are worth gathering and selling?

Gathering can generate income without requiring a prepared dungeon group. In the Global launch version, gathering unlocks at level 10 and includes resources such as Aether, ore, gemstones, and wood. Gathering itself and opening an Odyle Energy reward cube are separate systems, so do not subtract dungeon energy from every resource node when calculating your route. Flight is particularly useful when collecting Aether.Start with a short route near content you already run. Gather a small batch, confirm that the material is tradeable, and inspect actual transaction history or recent sales where available. Then compare several resource types using net Kina earned over the same amount of time. A rare material with a high unit price can still be worse than common stock that sells quickly and consistently.
  • Crafting materials: ore, wood, gemstones, and Aether when the specific item is tradeable.
  • Draconic crafting materials: Wrathful Mind, Wrathful Will, Wrathful Ego, and Balaur's Essence when they are actually moving on your server's Market.
  • Processed Balaur materials: compare finished components separately from raw horns, scales, and hides.
  • Food and potions: useful tradeable consumables that players need for current content.
  • Crafted equipment: only when the finished item remains tradeable after crafting and any actions you perform on it.

How to make money with crafting without losing Kina

Crafting becomes profitable only when the finished item's sale value exceeds its full production cost. That cost includes purchased components, the Market value of materials you gathered yourself, crafting fees, and trading fees. Ore you collected for free is not economically free because you could have sold it instead. Normal crafting can also fail depending on the recipe, so one lucky craft does not describe the expected profit of an entire batch. With Draconic gear, distinguish between a tradeable base item and later upgrades in the progression chain. Advancing the item can bind the result to the character that crafted it. Buying a base piece for your own progression and producing an item for sale therefore require different calculations. Read the binding warning before spending expensive materials, and do not equip an item intended for sale until you have confirmed the trade rules. To test demand, craft a small batch of consumables or one suitable item first. Compare the final result with what you would have earned by selling the components directly. If the finished item sits unsold for days, your Kina is effectively trapped in inventory. Scale up production only after you see real sales, not merely because another seller posted an ambitious price.

Market fees and real profit

Market access on Global is tied to the launch trading rules and Membership restrictions. Current Global notices allow non-members to list items while purchasing through the Market requires active Membership. Direct player-to-player trading is disabled on Global, so the Market is the main route for ordinary player commerce. Check your current client because NC can adjust access rules after launch.Market fee percentages are another area where old KR/TW guides are easy to misapply. The server Market in the Asian live service uses a 10% sale tax, while the Global client should be treated as the authority for any additional upfront listing fee shown at the time you post an item. Do not blindly import World Market rates either because the cross-server market was not part of the initial Global launch. Always read the confirmation window before listing an expensive item. For example, if your current Market confirmation shows a 2% listing cost plus a 10% sale tax, a successful sale at 100,000 Kina leaves 88,000 before accounting for production costs. If the materials and crafting cost 80,000, your real profit is only 8,000 rather than 20,000. Relisting an unsold item can reduce the result further. Use the exact percentages shown in your client for the calculation instead of assuming every region uses identical fees.

A practical evening Kina farming routine

  1. Claim completed Market settlements and check which of your listings actually sold.
  2. Complete useful money-related Duty Missions without wasting Kina on unnecessary rerolls.
  3. Spend available dungeon reward claims on content your group clears reliably and that also improves your character.
  4. Gather proven materials along those routes instead of making a long detour for an item with uncertain demand.
  5. List tradeable materials only after comparing recent prices, actual demand, and the fees shown by the Market.
  6. Keep enough Kina for important upgrades, then compare the net increase in both regular and bound currency.
Use the same measurement approach for open-world hunting. Record your balance before starting, farm for a fixed period, then subtract consumable and repair costs. If drops are poor or the area is overcrowded, change the route. There is no universal farming spot that guarantees identical Kina per hour for every class, server, and market economy.
