Fast leveling to 45 in AION 2 revolves around completing the main story in order, handling Ascension quests as soon as they become available, and making short detours into nearby dungeons when you need extra EXP. We recommend treating the Episode questline as your main route and using side activities only to fill level gaps or collect useful progression rewards. Below, we cover the Elyos and Asmodian routes, quest priorities, and the most efficient way to reach the current level cap.

Best quest order for fast leveling

The launch version of AION 2 Global has a character level cap of 45. Korean leveling routes that continue to level 50 refer to later regional content and should not be copied directly to Global. The most practical route to the cap is the main Episode chain with short detours whenever the next story quest has a level requirement you have not reached yet. Quest-marker color can help you navigate, but use the Quest Journal to confirm what type of quest you are looking at because continuing the main story matters more than clearing every marker on the map.
  1. Continue the main Episode questline whenever the next story quest is available.
  2. Complete Ascension quests as soon as they appear because they unlock important character systems.
  3. Pick up nearby Regional Quests when they can be completed along your route or when you need extra EXP.
  4. Run nearby Sealed Dungeons and Expeditions when story progression starts asking for a higher level.
  5. Return to the main story immediately after meeting the requirement instead of clearing the entire map before moving on.
Main story quests contribute much more to leveling than simply killing random enemies with no objective. Regional Quests and Sealed Dungeons still provide useful progression resources, so ignoring them completely is not ideal either. We recommend deciding which of two goals matters more to you: reaching level 45 as quickly as possible, or reaching it with a stronger and more complete character. The first approach can leave some rewards for later, while the second benefits from clearing compact groups of side activities that are already on your route.

Elyos and Asmodian leveling routes

The two factions begin in different regions, but the overall progression pattern is the same. Elyos start in Poeta and move to Verteron after the introduction. Asmodians begin in Ishalgen before moving on to Altgard. Once you reach the larger zones, let the story guide your route instead of traveling into high-level areas early just to grind normal enemies.
  • Levels 1-9: complete the introductory story in Poeta or Ishalgen, learn the core mechanics, and unlock movement systems including flight.
  • Levels 10-19: progress through Verteron or Altgard, continue the main story, begin clearing early Sealed Dungeons, and unlock the first Daevanion progression systems.
  • Levels 20-29: continue the Episode quests, complete the Ascension step around level 22, unlock your first Stigma, and use nearby Expeditions for additional EXP when needed.
  • Levels 30-39: keep following the story while making more use of Regional Quests and level-appropriate Expeditions to fill EXP gaps.
  • Levels 40-45: complete the final available story chains, check the requirements for each next Episode quest, and finish the next Ascension step.
These ranges describe the overall progression flow rather than strict rules for leaving one zone at a specific level. Extra kills, side quests, and faction-specific quest paths can shift the exact timing. Use the next available Episode objective as your main reference point. If the story is already sending you forward, clearing every remaining activity in the old area usually increases the time it takes to reach 45.

Levels 1-19: focus on the story and avoid unnecessary travel

During the opening levels, work through the tutorials in order and unlock movement options as they become available. Activate return points and use fast travel whenever possible so you do not repeat long routes on foot. Equip story rewards immediately when they improve your current gear. We recommend leaving distant collectibles and optional exploration objectives until they are already on your route or provide something you specifically need.At level 12, you unlock your first Daevanion board, Nezekan. Spend the Daevanion Crystals you earn on a route toward useful stats and core skill nodes instead of leaving them unused for no reason. For normal skills, prioritize the attacks you use constantly and any abilities that keep your main combat resource flowing. Light enhancement on a temporary weapon is reasonable if enemies are taking too long to kill, but do not dump a large amount of Kina into gear you are about to replace.

Levels 20-29: Ascension and your first Stigma

Around level 22, complete the Ascension quest The One Who Hears the Voice. This quest is tied to unlocking the Stigma system, so simply reaching the required level does not replace completing the story step. Once Stigmas are available, learn a skill that suits your current build and place it in the first slot. The second Stigma slot opens at level 27, giving you room for another attack, buff, defensive tool, or support ability.Your first major Expedition target is Krao Cave, followed by Urugugu Canyon. Their Exploration versions become relevant at approximately levels 20 and 28 respectively, provided you also meet the required unlock conditions and Item Level. We recommend running them when the story sends you there or when the rewards provide a meaningful equipment upgrade. Repeating the same dungeon purely for EXP is only worthwhile after comparing it with the Episode quests still available to you.

Levels 30-39: how to fill EXP gaps efficiently

Side activities become more useful during this range when the next main quest is not yet available. Start by checking unfinished Regional Quests close to your current story area and Sealed Dungeons or Expeditions appropriate for your level. Group several objectives that use the same route so one trip completes multiple tasks. As soon as you meet the level requirement for the next Episode quest, return to the story and keep unlocking new systems and areas. The third Stigma slot opens at level 32 and the fourth at level 37. The Ascension quest The One Who Dreams belongs to another important progression step and should also be treated as a priority. Fire Temple is the next major Exploration Expedition, opening around level 35 with the required Item Level. The exact story mission that sends you there can depend on your current chain, so check the dungeon's entry requirements separately from the active Episode objective.

Levels 40-45: finishing the last stretch

The final levels require noticeably more EXP, so the pace from the opening hours does not continue all the way to 45. Keep following the Episode quests and do not replace large story rewards with endless grinding against random mobs. If the next quest is level-gated, finish the nearest useful Regional Quests and any suitable dungeons you have not yet cleared. We recommend prioritizing activities with short travel times, especially when you only need a small amount of EXP to unlock the next story step.A story boss does not always require another round of gear enhancement. Watch which attacks force you out of position or cost most of your health, then adjust your movement and dodge timing. Use the safe window after a dangerous attack to commit your strongest abilities while preserving a way to escape the next mechanic. If every attempt ends in the same way, changing your approach is usually more productive than repeating the exact same sequence with slightly higher numbers.

Which resources should you save until level 45?

We recommend keeping a reserve of Kina and rare materials whenever your current equipment is already good enough to progress through the story comfortably. Temporary weapons can be enhanced a little, but fully investing in every leveling item becomes expensive when each one is replaced shortly afterward. Read the conditions on reward chests individually. The common advice to save every chest until level 45 only makes sense for rewards that scale with level or offer a useful level-dependent choice. Do not postpone a fixed reward that would help you now simply because it happens to come from a box.Manage Odyle Energy around the rewards you can currently claim and its regeneration. For fast leveling, avoid spending it unnecessarily on low-tier content you have already outgrown when the story is still progressing smoothly. At the same time, sitting at the energy cap is also inefficient because it prevents further regeneration. Decide based on your current reserve and how close you are to the next Expedition that can provide a useful upgrade.

What to do immediately after reaching level 45

Finish any remaining Episode requirements and Ascension quests, then check all four Stigma slots and spend any progression points you have been holding. From this point, character growth shifts much more heavily toward equipment, Daevanion boards, Expeditions, Transcendence, and other endgame systems. If you skipped Regional Quests or Sealed Dungeons for speed, this is a good time to return for their one-time progression rewards. There is no guaranteed number of hours that every player will need to reach level 45. Your class, knowledge of quest routes, cutscene habits, group-finder delays, and connection quality all affect the result. The route above minimizes unnecessary detours without requiring you to skip the story on a first playthrough. The main rule is simple: every activity should either advance the Episode questline or remove a specific obstacle that is preventing you from reaching the next story mission.
