Polished Bronze first becomes particularly important in Graveyard Keeper 2 when you need to repair the broken bridge leading to the Vineyard. This is also where the game can easily send you in the wrong direction. The name makes it sound like another smithing material, so looking for the recipe at an anvil seems logical. In reality, Polished Bronze is crafted at a Woodworking Workbench, and only after unlocking a separate technology, installing a Tool Rack, and obtaining Melted Fat from the alchemy laboratory.You only need 1 Polished Bronze to repair the bridge, while a single crafting cycle produces 2. Below, we'll cover the shortest route to your first batch and repair the passage to the Vineyard along the way.
Where Is the Broken Bridge?
The bridge is located west of the Keeper's house, next to the Garden. On the other side is the Vineyard, a separate production area where you can later grow Grapes and Hops, place Beehives, and use the basement to produce drinks.To repair the bridge, you'll need:- 4 Wooden Planks;
- 1 Polished Bronze;
- 4 Pieces of Stone;
- a Hammer;
- Building Mastery 2.
How to Unlock the Polished Bronze Recipe
Polished Bronze is unlocked through the Bronze Polishing technology in the Metallurgy branch. Researching it costs 30 red Tech Points.The technology alone isn't enough, however. To craft it, you'll also need:- Woodworking Workbench I or II;
- a Tool Rack connected to the workbench;
- Building Mastery 5.
Polished Bronze Recipe
At a Woodworking Workbench with a Tool Rack, use:- 2 Bronze Details;
- 2 Sand;
- 1 Melted Fat.
How to Get Bronze Details
Bronze Details are crafted at an anvil from Bronze Ingots. First, unlock the relevant Metallurgy technologies and place a Hardening Bucket next to the anvil. Without this extension, the bronze recipes won't appear.One Bronze Ingot gives:- 6 Bronze Details.
Where to Find Sand
Sand is the easiest ingredient to get. Take a Shovel and look for a sand deposit south of the broken bridge, in the lower-left part of your property. Gathering it requires Building Mastery, but by the time you unlock Polished Bronze, you'll most likely already meet the requirement.Each gathering cycle gives several units of Sand, while the recipe only needs two. You can automate Sand production later, but there is no need to set up a separate production line just for your first batch.How to Get Melted Fat
This is usually the real bottleneck. Melted Fat is produced in the Distillation Cube in the tower's alchemy laboratory. First, progress Albert's questline and gain access to the laboratory, then unlock the Alchemy and Distillation technologies. If you haven't reached that point yet, we cover the entire process in our Graveyard Keeper 2 alchemy guide.To build the Distillation Cube, you'll need:- 2 Wooden Planks;
- 2 Bronze Details;
- 12 Bricks.
- 1 Fat;
- 2 Clay Plates;
- 20 Fuel;
- output: 4 Melted Fat.
- 3 Seed Oil;
- 2 Clay Plates;
- 20 Fuel;
- output: 3 Melted Fat.
How to Craft Your First Polished Bronze
Once you've met all the requirements, the process is straightforward:- Research Bronze Polishing for 30 red Tech Points.
- Raise Building Mastery to 5.
- Place a Tool Rack next to Woodworking Workbench I.
- Prepare 2 Bronze Details, 2 Sand, and 1 Melted Fat.
- Select the Polished Bronze recipe at the Woodworking Workbench.
- Craft 2 units of Polished Bronze at once.
How to Repair the Bridge to the Vineyard
Return to the bridge west of the house and bring:- 4 Wooden Planks;
- 1 Polished Bronze;
- 4 Pieces of Stone;
- a Hammer.
Can You Just Buy Polished Bronze?
Ready-made Polished Bronze can appear at several town traders, including the Furniture Maker, Jeweler, and Smithy. This lets you skip part of the production chain if the relevant trader is already available and has the material in stock.For normal progression, however, it's still worth unlocking the recipe. You'll need Polished Bronze again for Woodworking Workbench II, Furnace II, the Weaving Loom, Writing Desk, and other structures. Buying every additional piece will cost considerably more than setting up production once.Sign in to leave a comment or rate this post.
