In CONTROL Resonant, progression applies not only to Dylan but also to individual zones across Manhattan. Different activities award Zone XP, and every new Zone Level unlocks an additional reward and grants a Talent Point. In this guide, we'll explain how to increase Zone Level and which activities provide the most XP.
Open the Map and look at the number next to the name of your current zone. This is its Zone Level. To increase it, you need to earn Zone XP by fighting enemies, exploring the area, and completing various activities.Image unavailableEvery time a zone levels up, you receive a reward and one Talent Point. You can also open the Details section from the Map to check the rewards for upcoming levels in that particular zone. A Talent Point is awarded with every level-up even if it is not listed separately among the rewards.Zone Level rewards can include improved Vendor stock, increased drops of Health Elements, new Outfits, and other bonuses.
How to Earn Zone XP
One of the easiest ways to earn Zone XP is by opening small and large Resource Crates. Their contents do not matter, since XP is awarded simply for opening them. Large Resource Crates can also be revealed on the Map through Zone Level upgrades.You also earn XP by completing Secrets, which are special puzzles marked with question-mark icons, and by completing World Feats. These are small open-world events, such as defending FBC cargo alongside allies or eliminating a specific group of enemies. They are marked on the Map with their own activity icons.Do not ignore Fast Travel Doors either. Activating one for the first time also awards Zone XP.Image unavailableWhen clearing enemy encounters, focus on the heavy enemies first. As long as at least one remains alive, drones can continue spawning, and you will not receive the completion XP until all of the heavy enemies have been defeated. After defeating a Resonant, World Feats and enemy groups in that zone begin appearing again. They become more difficult, but also award more XP.
How to Increase Zone Level Faster
Main story quests and Side Stories provide some of the largest amounts of Zone XP. Completing them increases the level of the zone where the corresponding mission takes place.The XP requirement rises with every new Zone Level, so ordinary enemy encounters gradually become less efficient. Once the next level starts requiring significantly more XP, focus on main quests, Side Stories, and World Feats. These activities provide more Zone XP than most other content and are the fastest way to continue leveling a zone.
