In WARDOGS, your overall character level directly depends on the progression of all six classes. Simply put, your Assault, Medic, Recon, Support, Driver, and Pilot levels are added together to form your overall WARDOG level. That is why there is little reason to focus on just one class. The first few levels of each track require much less XP, so leveling them relatively evenly is far more efficient. In this guide, we'll explain how to level every class faster, which methods work best, and what you should focus on during your first matches.
How the Overall WARDOG Level Works
Your overall WARDOG level is the combined total of all available class levels. For example, if several classes are at Level 5, one is at Level 3, and another is at Level 10, the game simply adds those values together. The early levels of each class also require noticeably less XP. So if your goal is to raise your overall level as quickly as possible and unlock new gear, armor, backpacks, attachments, and vehicles, it is better not to focus on a single progression track.Image unavailableEarly on, try to raise every class by at least a few levels before fully committing to your favorite role. This is especially useful in the beta because the tank unlocks at Level 35. Even after release, however, a high overall level will still matter because access to various pieces of equipment depends on it.
How to Level Assault Quickly
Assault is fairly straightforward. You earn XP by killing enemies with assault rifles.Image unavailableAt first, you can use the starting weapon, but once you unlock the AK, we recommend switching to it. In the current version, it is quite effective and makes it easy to rack up kills consistently. Before leaving the base, always stock up on ammunition. It is more efficient to buy full ammo packs rather than individual magazines. This lets you carry much more ammunition in two slots and prevents you from running dry during a long firefight.During a match, try to stay close to your group and fight near the Hot Zone. There are usually more enemies there, which means you can earn XP and money faster. Avoid bringing an overly expensive loadout if every death risks leaving you broke. It is better to use gear you can comfortably repurchase while still giving yourself a reliable chance to win gunfights.Another reason to stay close to your squad is that teammates can revive you after you go down, so you will spend less time getting back into the fight.
How to Level Medic Quickly
Medic earns XP in several ways: killing enemies with submachine guns, healing teammates, and reviving them.Image unavailableThe easiest method is to stay close to your group and help teammates during firefights. The Emergency Resuscitator is useful for quick revives. You can get one of these for free after each respawn, so do not forget to bring it with you.If your backpack has enough space, you can carry several resuscitators at once. This allows you to revive multiple players in succession and earn noticeably more XP.You also gain class XP by healing teammates with first aid kits and bandages. Once you unlock the Defibrillator, leveling becomes much faster. It lets you revive fallen teammates very quickly, but remember to bring extra batteries. The best position is slightly behind the main group near the Hot Zone. Your teammates will take most of the incoming fire while you continuously heal and revive them. However, do not rush toward every downed player. If enemies are nearby, peek from cover first and make sure you will not be killed during the revive. In some situations, it is easier to drag a teammate to safety and revive them there.
How to Level Recon Quickly
Recon is a little harder to level at the start. The starter sniper rifle is fairly weak and often fails to kill an enemy even with a clean headshot, especially if they are wearing good armor.Image unavailableThat means you do not have to start grinding the class with a sniper rifle right away. There is a much easier trick: while playing other classes, buy Binoculars before heading into combat and use them to mark enemies. Every target you spot gives you Recon XP, even if you continue fighting with a regular assault rifle or another weapon. This way, you can gradually reach Level 5 and unlock the SKS. Progression becomes much easier afterward because the weapon is significantly more effective than the starter rifle. Even after unlocking the SKS, keep marking enemies before killing them. It is extra XP for almost the same amount of effort. If you prefer playing as a dedicated sniper, choose positions with a clear view of the battlefield. Elevated ground, bridges, and hills let you fire down on enemies without getting dragged into close-range fights. Do not stay in one place for too long. If enemies figure out where the shots are coming from, relocate. Bushes and other cover are also useful. Vegetation does not block bullets, so you can fire through it without a problem.
How to Level Support Quickly
Support is one of the most awkward classes to level during the first few levels. Early on, the main source of XP comes from shotguns, which are not particularly effective on large maps. You can also use a hammer and focus on construction, but at the very beginning you only have access to a small hammer. It can build only the simplest structures, so the amount of XP you earn is fairly limited.Image unavailableThere is a much easier method: level Support together with Driver or Pilot. Supply crates are particularly useful for this. Deliver them to a FOB and you will earn both vehicle XP and a large amount of Support XP. You also receive additional points after teammates unpack the supplies you delivered. This means you can barely use a shotgun at all and still get through the most inconvenient early levels quickly. Once you unlock the larger hammer, leveling becomes much easier because you can build proper fortifications and other useful structures at the base.Later, you will also unlock RPGs, C4 explosives, machine guns, and guided launchers. All of these can also earn Support XP.
How to Level Pilot Quickly
At the first few Pilot levels, the easiest method is transporting teammates in a small helicopter. Pick up players at the base and drop them closer to the combat area. If you manage to deploy a squad directly inside the Hot Zone, you will earn extra money and probably more XP. The problem is that early in a match, there are not always players waiting for transport. That is why it is much more efficient to wait for a Huey to become available. This helicopter can appear at the base later in the match and can be used by any player. The important thing is getting to it before someone else does. The Huey can transport supply crates. Buy cargo, fly to your FOB, and drop it there. You will earn Pilot and Support XP at the same time.Image unavailableWhen teammates unpack the crates, you will also receive additional money and Support XP.If there are currently no players at the base who need a ride, running logistics is much more efficient than simply flying around the map waiting for passengers.
How to Level Driver Quickly
Driver can also be raised by several levels in almost a single match. Once one of the teams reaches roughly 20 points, an armored spawn vehicle appears at the base. It is best to stay nearby so you can claim it immediately. Now comes the fairly boring part: drive from the base to the active combat area and leave the vehicle somewhere convenient for your teammates. After that, you will start earning XP whenever other players spawn inside it. In a good match, this can be enough to reach around Level 4 almost immediately. After that, you will unlock the Ural, which makes leveling much easier. The truck can carry two supply crates at once. Buy supplies, deliver them to a FOB, and repeat the process. This levels Driver and Support simultaneously. If your goal is to raise both classes as quickly as possible, this is one of the most efficient methods.
Which Classes Are Best to Level Together?
Some WARDOGS classes can be leveled almost simultaneously, so there is little reason to split them across separate matches. For example, while playing Assault or Medic, you can constantly mark enemies with Binoculars and gain extra Recon XP. Pilot and Driver pair extremely well with Support thanks to logistics runs. Delivering supply crates to FOBs earns XP for two progression tracks at once. That is why we recommend against trying to max out one class immediately. It is far more efficient to spread your actions across several tracks and gradually raise your overall WARDOG level. In short, the optimal progression route looks something like this:
Play Assault or Medic and mark enemies with Binoculars to level Recon.
Raise Recon to Level 5 and unlock the SKS.
Use the armored spawn vehicle to gain several Driver levels quickly.
Once you unlock the Ural, start running supplies.
Use the Huey to level Pilot and Support at the same time.
After unlocking more powerful equipment, finish leveling the remaining classes through their regular activities.
This approach will raise your overall WARDOG level much faster and give you earlier access to better armor, weapons, attachments, and vehicles.
