We first encounter the fog earlier in the caves, where it conjures enemies for us to fight. A little later, however, we reach a fog-filled chamber that keeps sending us back to the same place. Gamora and Rocket begin arguing about what they can hear, and Peter gets a dialogue choice.
Whatever enemy we choose is exactly what the fog will create.
If we side with Gamora or Rocket, the creature they mentioned appears and we have to fight it. After the battle, we end up in the same situation again. We can keep doing this if we want another fight, but killing these enemies does not solve the puzzle.To break the loop, do not choose either enemy. Pick the neutral "..." response and tell everyone to stay quiet. On the default PC controls, this means using the cancel response rather than selecting Gamora's or Rocket's answer. How to Destroy the Source of the Fog in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
Not long afterward, we enter another chamber and face shadowy copies of the Guardians. Do not waste too much time trying to defeat them. The enemies keep respawning until we destroy the huge stone face that is creating the fog.
First step: activate Star-Lord's visor and look for the small opening on the left side of the stone face. Order Rocket to crawl inside. He will plant an explosive and destroy part of the statue.
Second step: find the second opening on the opposite side, behind the waterfall. Ask Rocket to enter it. He will refuse because he hates water. Keep surviving the fight until the fog starts grabbing members of the team, then ask Rocket again. After Groot and Gamora are taken, Rocket finally works up the courage to go through the water and blows up the second section.
Third step: the explosions expose a green Wind Shot point on the statue's forehead. Use Star-Lord's Wind Shot on it to pull the remaining section down and destroy the source of the fog completely.
