Sizing Things Up in ARC Raiders is another Frozen Trail quest that requires you to equip a Camera and deploy to Pendola Pass. You need to photograph the Emperor's leg by the bridge outside Old Town, analyze another leg south of Railroad Junction, then search the buried payload near the machine's body. This guide explains where to take the photo, where to climb for the analysis, and which component you need to extract for Celeste.

What to bring for Sizing Things Up
The quest is given by Celeste, and accepting it grants you a Basic Camera. Make sure to equip it before deploying because simply reaching the correct leg is not enough. You need to take a picture with the item. We recommend placing the Camera in your Safe Pocket if possible, so an unlucky encounter with another Raider does not leave you without the main quest tool before you take the first photo.Bring healing supplies and something to restore your shield. The route takes you around the remains of the enormous Emperor, and several objectives are in exposed areas. There is no need to bring expensive gear for a mandatory boss fight because the machine you are examining is already destroyed. Active ARC and other Raiders can still interrupt the expedition, so check the approaches before every interaction.Where to photograph the Emperor's leg near Old Town
On Pendola Pass, find Old Town in the southwestern part of the map. From there, head east toward the destroyed bridge over the ravine. One of the Emperor's front legs crosses the area beside the bridge. That is the leg you need for the first photo. You do not need to enter the buildings in Old Town for this objective.Stand on the bridge or near the mound of debris so that you can see the lower part of the leg and its joint. Select the Camera from the item wheel, aim at the structure, and take the picture. The objective will update after a valid shot. Only then should you put the Camera away and continue to the next location. If the photo does not register, move slightly and include more of the lower part of the leg in the frame. Do not photograph only the Emperor's body in the distance. The quest is looking for the specific section near the bridge. Climbing slightly onto nearby debris can help keep the view clear. The Emperor is not going anywhere, so spending a few extra seconds on the angle is better than crossing half the map for another photo attempt.Do you need to find the crashed probe?
For the first part of Sizing Things Up, you only need to complete two of the three investigation objectives. This route uses the photo and the analysis of the exposed section of the leg near Railroad Junction. Once those are finished, the optional probe objective becomes unavailable. That does not prevent you from continuing the quest. Do not keep searching for the probe after the Journal has already sent you toward the payload. If you want to inspect the probe instead, look for it near the Emperor's northernmost leg, far west of Almatera Station, close to the western edge of the map. It is partially buried in the snow. Break it open if it is still closed and inspect the circuitry during the same raid. You do not need this detour for the route described below. How to analyze the Emperor's leg near Railroad Junction
After taking the photo, head toward Railroad Junction in the central part of the map. The required leg touches the ground to the south of it. Look for the massive metal support extending from the Emperor's body through the area. This objective is not another photograph. You need to interact with the exposed section of the structure, so the Camera can stay in your inventory.Approach the base of the leg and climb onto the sloped metal plating near its lower joint. Walk along the upper surface until the Analyze Part interaction appears. Perform the interaction and wait for it to finish. If the prompt does not appear, continue a little farther across the surface. Standing beside the leg in the snow is not enough. After the analysis, the next objective sends you to the base of the Emperor. Return toward the main body in the western part of the map. The final steps, searching the buried payload and extracting the component, should be completed in the same raid. There is no need to keep photographing the other legs because this route has already provided the required investigation data.Where to find the Buried Harvester Payload at the Emperor's base
Head toward the front section of the Emperor's body, east of the Fallen Emperor marker, near Piazza Della Rupe. The main landmark is the enormous circular opening in the machine's body. As you approach the correct area, the objective for reaching the Emperor's base will complete and the quest will ask you to search the buried payload. Look in front of the body rather than inside it.Drop down toward the snow and debris beneath the opening. A long metal container is sticking out of the snow at an angle and is partially buried. Interact with it to search the Buried Harvester Payload. The search produces an ARC Conductive Coupler. This is the component Celeste needs.Make sure to pick up the component after searching the payload. Opening the container and walking away is not enough. Confirm that the ARC Conductive Coupler is in your inventory and move it to your Safe Pocket if you have room. You do not need to open the locked door in the Emperor's body for this objective. The payload is outside, so the quest does not require an Emperor Gateway Conduit Key.How to complete Sizing Things Up and get the rewards
Choose an available extraction point and return to Speranza with the ARC Conductive Coupler. We recommend not delaying for one more container because you already have the quest item and still need to hand it in. Once back in Speranza, open Celeste's quests and deliver the component. Sizing Things Up will then be complete. You receive:Sign in to leave a comment or rate this post.
