The new DarkSwarm trailer focuses on the technology behind the alien hordes. Enemies do not simply pour toward the player in a straight line. They flood corridors, surround squads, spread through open spaces, and force the team to keep repositioning as the density and direction of the swarm changes.
DarkSwarm supports four classes: Assault, Engineer, Support, and Infiltrator. Assault breaks through enemy lines, Engineer uses deployable technology, Support keeps the squad stable and supplied, while Infiltrator focuses on stealth and removing threats before they become a direct problem.Coordination is central to the game. DarkSwarm includes friendly fire, procedurally generated missions, hacking and stealth systems, and semi-destructible environments that allow players to blast through parts of walls and create alternate routes. The objective is not to clear every creature from the map. Squads need to complete the contract, recover whatever the client wants, and extract with the resources they managed to secure. The playable characters are bioprinted mercenaries working for Valstorm, a private military corporation that treats them as disposable assets. That setup gives the game its bleak corporate tone and also explains why surviving the mission is secondary to completing the contract.DarkSwarm is currently in development for PC. The next Closed Alpha begins on November 3, 2026. Bitfire Games says Early Access is planned for early 2027, with the exact release date to be announced later.
