European ratings board PEGI briefly published a detailed breakdown of GTA VI's adult content before removing the page from its website. The leak revealed mechanics Rockstar has never shown in its trailers.
PEGI rated GTA VI 18 just one day after the North American ESRB assigned the game an M for Mature 17+ rating. The seven ESRB content descriptors are identical to those listed for GTA V: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, and Use of Drugs and Alcohol. PEGI, however, went further and provided more specific details. According to the description, the violence has a high degree of realism. Players can harm any characters in the open world, including civilians and domestic animals, although injuries to animals are reportedly less detailed than those inflicted on humans.Image unavailableThe most notable part of the description concerns drug use and explicit content. According to PEGI, interacting with illegal substances will be a frequent and visible part of gameplay. Characters can carry them and use them at any time, including in the company of other characters. The sexual-content section mentions intimate scenes and fetish-related content, as well as the ability to interact with dancers in nightclubs. That would mark a new level of explicit content for the series. Previous entries generally kept sexual encounters behind fades or implied scenes and did not go into this level of detail.
