Dressmaker has become an unexpected Steam hit. It's a surprisingly serious dressmaking simulator where you choose fabric, create patterns, cut the material, and sew garments together. The game launched on September 21 and has already earned an Overwhelmingly Positive rating, with around 97–98% of users happy with their purchase.
But the real chaos began once the community got to grips with the in-game editor. Players are already recreating Van Gogh's The Starry Night and the Mona Lisa on dresses, building full suits of armor, giant butterflies, and other designs so elaborate that people on social media are asking a perfectly reasonable question: are we even playing the same game?Judging by the player count, a lot of people were eager to become virtual dressmakers. Dressmaker peaked at nearly 36,000 concurrent players on Steam.
