Microsoft has opened up Disc-to-Digital licensing to all Xbox users after testing the feature with Insiders. All you need to do is insert a supported Xbox One or Xbox Series X disc into a console with an optical drive, and the game receives a digital license and appears in your library. Where supported, you can also play it through Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox Play Anywhere.Image unavailableYou still can't get rid of the physical disc completely, though. The digital license remains linked to that specific disc, meaning the system effectively keeps track of who currently holds its digital entitlement. Xbox 360 and Original Xbox discs are not supported yet either.
