ARC Raiders will receive the major Frozen Trail update on October 8. Embark Studios has revealed the main additions, including the snowy Pendola Pass map, new ARC enemies, a personal Outpost, expanded weapon customization, and several new gadgets.
Beyond the Rust Belt
The biggest addition is Pendola Pass, a snow-covered area beyond the mountains surrounding the Rust Belt. It was once home to an Italian settlement and a major Exodus Project transport hub, but Raiders are now drawn there by an unusual discovery: a fallen Emperor containing rare technology.Exploration will be complicated not only by ARC and other players, but also by brutal flash freezes.
The area will also feature the Frigate, one of ARC's largest vessels. Raiders will be able to board it, explore its interior, and fight through tight corridors. This is also where players will encounter one of the three new enemies, the Hydra, a turret made up of three stacked autonomous sections. It will be joined by the aggressive Bully and the ambush-focused Skulker.
Your Own Outpost and Expanded Weapon Progression
Once Frozen Trail launches, Raiders will be able to establish a new home of their own: an Outpost located between the Rust Belt and the mountains. It can be expanded with different modules and decorated with furniture, but its most important feature is the new Research Workstation.A fully upgraded Research Workstation will unlock a fifth quality level for a selection of weapons and open up additional branching upgrade paths. These can significantly change how familiar guns behave. The developers have shown examples including a fully automatic Burletta, a Renegade with a scope, and a Rattler with incendiary rounds and a 64-round magazine. The system will initially support 15 weapons.
New Weapons and Gadgets
Two new guns will be added to the arsenal: the Stiletto, a light-ammo battle rifle, and the Bantam, a heavy-ammo snub-nosed revolver.
The new gadgets look even more interesting. The Grapple Hook will let players climb hard-to-reach areas, abseil from buildings, and swing across large gaps. The Tether Launcher can connect two separate points with a wire, including attaching another Raider to an ARC and letting the machine drag them away. The Yank Grenade violently pulls nearby targets, making it possible to drag players out of cover or slam flying ARC into the ground.
What Else Is Coming With Frozen Trail
The update will also introduce the new Reward Pass progression system, rework the Skill Tree, and add new questlines along with another Map Condition. Players will also get a fully functional camera with extensive photography settings, new musical instruments, and Weapon Stencils for personalizing their guns.Image unavailableFrozen Trail launches on October 8, 2026.
