The Hall of Mirrors in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse can be tricky to navigate. Its repeating rooms confuse players, the map stays hidden, and the way to unlock the next passage isn't exactly obvious. If you're having trouble exploring the Hall of Mirrors, this guide explains how to break the seals, use the mirrors, and find your way out of the belfry. We'll also point out where to find useful relics and weapons.
You can enter the Hall of Mirrors through a Mirror of Life. Stand in front of a mirror you've already activated and hold down. A quick tap won't work, so keep holding until you're transported. Inside, choose the mirror labeled with the room you want and kneel in front of it again. At first, you can only travel within your current area. If the floor you need is still locked, use the Ferryman to reach a region you've already unlocked. Also, make sure you've activated the mirror at your destination. You can't travel to a room you haven't discovered yet. You'll need to explore the maze itself later, when you continue playing after your first victory over Dracula. So visiting early to use fast travel doesn't mean it's time to clear the entire Hall of Mirrors.Image unavailable
How to Break the Seals and Reveal the Map
Enter from the Main Hall through the red portal door in the Servants' Quarters. Near the entrance, you'll find four seals. Hit each one and defeat the enemies it summons. The nearby mirrors lead to Paris Streets, Main Hall, Notre-Dame, and Clock Tower. To reveal the map, use the mirror shrines between the hooded statues. Press interact, which is R1 on PlayStation or E on PC. The first shrine is in Threshold of Vision. Kneel at the marked spots as well. A ghostly figure will appear, followed by a map update notification to confirm you've done it correctly.Image unavailable
How to Open the Passage in the Belfry
In the Recurring Belfry, climb to the upper central balcony and kneel. The mirror overhead will shatter, opening the way up to the Ballroom of Terror. Return later and strike the large central mirror window to open the route ahead. In rooms with sawblades, look for a mirror shard inside the archway. Hitting it removes the barrier. Continue through the tall shaft of the In-Between and the passage with a glowing rune toward The Descent into Memory. Activate the shrine at the foot of the large red staircase.
Which Treasures to Collect in the Hall of Mirrors
You don't have to search every corner in one visit. But these chests are worth a short detour:
Sand Charm. On the upper-right balcony in Servants' Refectory. Use your whip grapple to climb up.
Dusk Amulet. Behind a thick, breakable floor near the Ferryman's Wharf. Perform a downward smash from a considerable height. A short jump won't break this floor.
Crystallized Blood. In a chest in the attic room of Dead-end Tower.
Haunting Relic. In a chest in the spiked chamber below the spinning sawblade trap in Steps of Misdirection.
There's also an attack-boosting book behind a hidden passage in the Ballroom of Terror, above the pedestal with sawblades. Look for defense-boosting books behind hidden passages in Passage of Perplexity and Corridor of Déjà Vu. Pay attention to the edges of the walls. Not every secret requires you to smash something.Image unavailable
How to Get Bernhard's Wrath
You'll need to complete a separate arena challenge to get these legendary fists. From the Ferryman's Wharf in the In-Between, head down and left toward the room with a transition mirror. Kneel in front of it and wait for the reflection to shatter into fragments. Rose will be transported to the eastern side of the map, into a challenge room. You'll have to fight flying swords, eyes, knights, skeletons, and werewolves here. Deal with airborne enemies first so they don't interfere while you're dodging attacks on the ground. If you've already unlocked Chronomantic Dive, use it against groups of enemies. After winning, open the chest containing Bernhard's Wrath. These fists deal more damage as you land consecutive hits and restore health as your combo builds. If you enjoy getting right up close in a fight, this arena is well worth a visit.Image unavailable
How to Reach and Defeat the Succubus
Go down the red staircase, then jump from the right edge of the dark hall with banners into the room with the fireplace. Before the encounter, it's a good idea to save at the Mirror of Life in Heart of the Maze.At the fireplace, you'll meet someone pretending to be Sypha. Speak to her and refuse her offer. The illusion will disappear, starting the Succubus fight. So much for the family reunion.Watch which direction she lunges after teleporting. Slide under her horizontal attacks, then retaliate with a short combo. When the boss retreats inside a pink barrier, focus on her copies. As long as they're alive, attacks against the real Succubus are blocked.Image unavailableDestroy the doubles and the Succubus will fall onto the carpet. That's your chance to land some heavy attacks and spells. During her final attack with four copies, use aerial strikes to hit them while jumping. Defeating her rewards you with The Temptress Arcana card and the Life Drain spell.Image unavailable
