- Why 100% Campaign completion is not the same as earning every achievement
To unlock every achievement in Gears of War: E-Day, you need to finish the Campaign, collect its secrets, master all four Horde Siege classes, and spend a lot of time in Versus. Xbox currently has 54 achievements worth 1,000 Gamerscore, while Steam has 55. Below, we explain every requirement, cover the hidden achievements, and suggest which objectives to work on together so the road to 100% does not become an endless grind.A convenient order is:

Where to start with the achievement hunt
It is easier to divide the list into three large goals from the beginning: Campaign, Horde Siege, and competitive Versus. Story achievements unlock naturally as you progress, but tens of thousands of kills and maximum progression require much more time. We recommend learning the weapons and collecting upgrades in the Campaign first, then alternating between the multiplayer modes. That way, you can progress several counters at once instead of discovering after a hundred matches that you forgot to use your class ability the entire time. The achievement names below use the official English list. Xbox currently has 54 achievements worth 1,000 Gamerscore. Steam has one additional zero-point completion achievement, The Lucky Ones Died on E-Day, for earning every other achievement. Microsoft removed that entry from Xbox before launch to support the new Mythic Achievements system, but players still receive the I AM A GEAR Player Title after completing the rest of the list.
- Finish Boot Camp and the Campaign. Explore side routes, complete Secondary Objectives, and open the Hard Cases and Supply Caches you encounter. If you get stuck on a story objective, use our complete Gears of War: E-Day walkthrough.
- Clean up missed Campaign progress and Insane difficulty. Check the War Journal, then replay the Acts you still need. Co-op completion can be combined with this stage if your group is ready for the higher difficulty.
- Level all four Horde Siege classes. Work on class-specific Tactical Gear objectives, revive allies, complete missions, and unlock Weapon Mods at the same time.
- Alternate Horde Siege with Versus. Build up the huge kill counters while waiting for opportunities to complete mode-specific achievements. The final cleanup should then consist mostly of individual combat tricks and whatever counters are still unfinished.
Boot Camp and all story achievements
FNG - 15G
Complete Boot Camp. Do not confuse this with finishing the first Campaign Act because the tutorial has its own achievement. It is also a good place to get comfortable with the controls before the Locust start testing whether you actually learned anything. The remaining 13 achievements in this section unlock automatically as you progress through the story and are worth 15G each. You do not need to find a separate secret or perform an optional combat trick for them:- Act 1: Emergence Begins, We Must Improvise, The Bigger They Are…
- Act 2: The Scorched Legion, You Want What On the Front of a Gun?!, Got to the Choppa.
- Act 3: Get Back You Eight-legged Freak, Twice the Pride, Double the Fall, …The Harder They Fall.
- Act 4: End of the Line, The Only Good Bug is a Dead Bug.
- Act 5: Nothing Left but the Fight, For My Boys.
Campaign completion, secrets, and co-op achievements
Remember Kalona - 25G
Complete all five Campaign Acts on any difficulty. This is the achievement for a normal story clear. You do not need to collect every secret first, so there is no reason to delay the ending because one collectible is still missing. You're My Brother - 15G
Complete all Acts in co-op on any difficulty. Joining a friend only for the ending is not enough because the requirement covers the entire Campaign. Agree in advance on which chapters you are completing together and check the War Journal as you go. Pay attention to your own recorded progress rather than relying only on the host's save.Today We Are Canceling the Apocalypse - 25G
Complete all Acts on Insane difficulty. We recommend leaving this for after your first playthrough so you already know the routes and weapon placements. Check your loadout and mods before difficult fights. Completing only the final chapter on Insane does not replace the rest of the Acts.Side Piece - 15G
Complete all 17 Secondary Objectives in the Campaign on any difficulty. Check for optional requests before leaving each district because some become available only after story progression. To avoid searching the city blindly, use our route for all 17 Secondary Objectives in Gears of War: E-Day. Horde Siege Secondary Objectives use a completely separate counter.Relax. I'm the Map. - 15G
Discover all 125 Hard Cases in the Campaign. These are upgrade cases, not normal documents or Supply Caches. Search side rooms and re-check routes that open after a main objective. If you use an external checklist, compare it with the War Journal to make sure the list is actually complete.Memories From E-Day - 15G
Find all 140 Collectibles on any difficulty. This category includes COG Tags, documents, and other story collectibles. During cleanup, use the War Journal to identify the chapter with missing items, then search for the specific collectible. Hard Cases and Supply Caches do not add to the 140 Collectibles counter.Quartermaster - 15G
Unlock all Supply Cache items in the Campaign. Simply visiting Supply Cache stations is not enough because the achievement tracks the inventory unlocked through them. Pick up new weapons and use a Supply Cache after updating your loadout. Horde Siege purchases use a different system and do not count toward Quartermaster. For Whom the Bell Tolls - 75G
Complete the Campaign on Insane and achieve 100% Campaign completion. Current Xbox tracking allows the completion work itself to be done on any difficulty, so you can collect the secrets and Secondary Objectives separately and then finish the remaining Acts on Insane. Watch both parts of the requirement because simply reaching the credits does not unlock this achievement. All Horde Siege achievements
All four launch classes have 30 levels. While leveling each one, we recommend also working on its Tactical Gear achievement: Sonic Disruptor executions with Assault, Adrenaline uptime with Breacher, Pulse Drone scans with Marksman, and Stim Vaporizer revives with Medic. The remaining counters will build naturally while you complete missions. Just remember that a finished objective is not the same thing as a successful extraction.Lift Outta Hell - 15G
Complete and survive 50 Horde Siege missions on Infantry difficulty or higher. If your goal is the mission count, choose missions your squad can finish reliably. Enemy kills alone do not replace a successful mission completion. Shorter contracts are generally more efficient than repeatedly failing a long defense.Best I Can Do Is a Pizza Party - 15G
Complete 100 Secondary Objectives in Horde Siege. This is a cumulative counter, so you do not need one hundred unique objectives. Pick up side tasks when they fit your squad's route and main mission. Completing an optional objective together is much more useful than getting the whole squad wiped for one extra counter tick.Turn It Up to 11 - 15G
Execute 50 enemies stunned by the Sonic Disruptor. Play Assault, stun eligible enemies, and perform an execution before the effect wears off. Simply shooting a stunned target does not satisfy the requirement. Tell your teammates when you are setting up an execution so they do not kill the enemy first.Never Fight Alone - 15G
Extract from Horde Siege on Allfather difficulty with all squadmates alive. Level your classes first, coordinate roles, and attempt this when the team has a reliable build. Before boarding the Raven, make sure nobody is downed or waiting to respawn. The achievement requires your full squad to survive the extraction, not merely complete the map objective.I'm All Amped Up - 15G
Maintain 30 seconds of Adrenaline with the Injector. Play Breacher and set up your Tactical Gear around keeping the effect active continuously. Several short bursts spread across different fights do not count as one 30-second streak. A long engagement with steady enemy pressure is the easiest place to attempt it.Spotted and Slotted - 15G
Pulse 1,000 enemies with the Pulse Drone. Play Marksman and deploy the device whenever groups of enemies appear. Do not sit on a fully charged ability all mission because the achievement only progresses when targets are actually pulsed. This counter is best completed naturally while leveling the class to 30.Form-Up! - 15G
Receive the maximum reward from a Perk Cache in Horde Siege. The best reward goes to the squad that interacts with the cache first. Watch for these points during missions and move there with your team when one appears. A normal Supply Cache is not the same thing and does not count.Who Loves Ya, Baby? - 15G
Revive 20 players from other squads in Horde Siege. You need to help players outside your own four-person squad, not only your regular teammates. Medic abilities can be useful when another squad is under pressure. Check achievement progress after a rescue if you are unsure which types of revival the game counted.Down, but Not Dead - 15G
Revive 250 squadmates from DBNO with the Stim Vaporizer. You need to play Medic and use the correct Tactical Gear. Normal manual revives do not replace this requirement. Position the gas so downed teammates remain inside the effect and are actually brought back up.Stacks, On Stacks, On Stacks - 15G
Spend 150,000 Energy at Supply Caches in Horde Siege on any difficulty. Energy is earned by the squad, while each player spends their own share on gear and upgrades. Buy useful equipment regularly while working on other achievements. Simply finishing missions with a huge unused Energy balance does not progress this counter.Like a Boss - 15G
Successfully complete 25 Invasion Events on any difficulty. Join fights against major threats and stay until the event is actually completed. A boss simply spawning on the map is not enough. These events are designed around several squads, so cooperating with nearby players is usually much more efficient than trying to handle everything alone. This Is My Rifle - 15G
Unlock all Weapon Mods in Horde Siege. Level your classes, collect Weapon Parts, and check which unlocks are still missing. At least one member of your squad needs to extract successfully for Weapon Parts collected during the mission to be preserved. Campaign mods do not count for this achievement.Crepe du Raven - 15G
Stand directly underneath a landing Raven at the extraction zone and let the aircraft crush you. That is the joke behind the achievement description about carefully inspecting its underside. Reports indicate that another squad's Raven can work as well. Do this separately from your serious Allfather extraction attempt so at least the rest of the team practices basic workplace safety.I Didn't Hear No Bell - 15G
Save your entire squad while you are moments from death in Horde Siege. The currently published method involves recovering the tags of three dead squadmates, reaching a Supply Cache, entering DBNO yourself, and using the station to bring the team back while downed. The achievement should trigger when the squad restoration begins. This method has been reported to behave inconsistently, so we do not treat it as guaranteed. Check whether the achievement unlocks immediately after the attempt. Also remember that Supply Caches can be disabled during certain Invasion Events, so choose the timing carefully.I WILL MASSACRE YOU - 25G
Kill 50,000 enemies in Horde Siege on any difficulty. Build this total while leveling all four classes, completing missions, and clearing Invasion Events. During normal progression, use a difficulty you can finish consistently. If this is the only counter left afterward, switch to missions with long fights and dense enemy waves.Siege Specialist - 25G
Reach level 30 with Assault, Breacher, Marksman, and Medic. Maxing one favorite class does not satisfy the requirement. Change roles once you hit 30 and immediately start working on the new class's Tactical Gear achievement. That prevents you from having to return later to an already-completed class just for forgotten stuns or scans. All Versus achievements
Somebody Set Us Up the Bomb - 15G
Plant the bomb in Demolition and have it explode without the enemy defusing it. Stay close enough to defend the planted bomb and cover the approaches with your team. The achievement requires the round situation to end with the explosion. Planting the bomb and immediately running off to chase kills usually gives the other team an easy defuse. It Only Game, Why You Heff to Be Mad? - 15G
Win a Conquest match without allowing the enemy team to score a single point. Coordinate objective control and watch flanking routes from the opening seconds. Once the opposing team scores, that particular match can no longer satisfy the requirement, even if you dominate the rest of it. Continue playing for kills and experience, then try again in the next match.Days Since Last Accident: 0 - 15G
On the Battleship Versus map, find the control that drops a suspended mine. Wait until an enemy is underneath it, then activate the mechanism and kill them with the falling mine. Triggering the hazard without killing anyone does not unlock the achievement. There are two such mechanisms on the map, and player reports indicate that the method can also work in playlists that include bots.HEY NOW, YOU'RE AN ALL STAR… - 25G
Get 25,000 kills in Versus. Campaign and Horde Siege kills do not count. We recommend mixing Versus into your progression from the beginning rather than leaving the entire competitive grind until the end. Anyone going for every achievement will need this 25,000-kill total regardless of the lower number currently shown in the Steam description for Dead Serious.Combat tricks and reviving allies
Just Let Me Get One More… - 15G
Get 100 Revives. Pick up downed allies whenever you have a safe opportunity and let this counter build during normal play. You do not need a dramatic full-team rescue every time. One successful revive still moves the achievement forward. Keep in mind that Medic revives and reviving players from other squads also have their own separate achievements.I Am Heavy Weapons Guy - 15G
Kill 10 enemies in a row with a single detached turret. Rip a turret from its mount and choose an encounter with enough enemies to maintain the streak. Stay on the same weapon for all ten kills because using several different detached turrets does not satisfy the wording. Ask teammates to cover you so the attempt is not interrupted halfway through the wave.Brotector - 15G
Save another player from a struggle with a Locust. Watch teammates who get caught in close combat and attack the enemy holding them. Reviving someone who is already downed belongs to a different achievement. Brotector specifically requires intervening while another player is being grabbed.Okay, Boomer. - 15G
Carve up a Boomer. Weaken the enemy first, then use the Prototype Lancer chainsaw execution rather than finishing it with ordinary gunfire. It is easier to arrange with a squad that knows you are attempting the achievement because a teammate can otherwise take the final bit of health by accident.Right in the Ticker - 15G
Kick a Ticker back into an E-Hole so its explosion closes the emergence point. Use the melee interaction to send the creature toward the hole. One convenient opportunity appears in Act 2, Chapter 2 during the bank defense, where Tickers spawn near an active E-Hole. Kicking a Ticker on an ordinary street is not enough because the explosion needs to close the hole.Chainsaw Go Brrrrrrrrr - 15G
Kill a Locust with a chainsaw in either Campaign or Horde Siege. Choose an enemy that is safe to approach and perform the chainsaw attack. There is no long kill streak attached to this achievement. One successful chainsaw kill is enough.Explosive Indigestion - 15G
Kill a Bilefrog by putting an explosive into its open mouth. A convenient early fight appears in Act 2, Chapter 2 on the story route toward All Father's Plaza. If necessary, weaken the creature first, wait for the mouth to open, and then place the explosive accurately. A smoke grenade does not count. Two Grubs, One Gut-Punch - 15G
Kill two enemies with one Gut-Puncher round. Wait until two targets are close together and weaken them first if necessary. Fire so that the same explosive shot kills both. Two fast shots against two separate enemies do not satisfy the achievement.Payback's A Pitch - 15G
Let an Armored Wretch stun you, then kill it while the post-stun blurred-screen effect is still active. A convenient opportunity appears in the first room of Act 3, Chapter 5. Do not wait for your vision to fully recover because the achievement requires immediate retaliation. If it does not trigger, repeat the process on the next suitable Armored Wretch.Player Level and Re-Up achievements
Field Service - 15G
Reach Player Level 100 and Re-Up for the first time. Simply reaching level 100 is not enough because you need to activate the Re-Up transition as well. Player XP comes from multiplayer matches and weekly challenges. Horde Siege class level is a separate progression system.Got Your Wings - 25G
Complete the full Re-Up path and claim your wings. E-Day lets you Re-Up four times, with Player Level resetting to 1 after each Re-Up. The wings are awarded when you reach level 100 on the final cycle, meaning the complete progression path represents 500 Player Levels in total. Your first Re-Up unlocks Field Service, but it is only the beginning of this grind. How to unlock Dead Serious and reach final 100% completion
Dead Serious - 85G
Complete the Campaign at 100% with an Insane clear, reach maximum Player Level, max all four Horde Siege classes, and complete the required Versus kill grind. There is currently a platform discrepancy in the displayed description: the live Steam achievement entry lists 10,000 Versus kills, while Xbox's official achievement list and Xbox tracking use 25,000.Check the wording shown on your own platform when specifically targeting Dead Serious. For full achievement completion, however, you will need 25,000 Versus kills either way because the separate HEY NOW, YOU'RE AN ALL STAR… achievement requires that total. We recommend checking the four major requirements separately. Finish the Campaign and its secrets, then max your four classes and Player Level while regularly playing Versus. If Dead Serious is still locked, compare every category against the War Journal and multiplayer progression screens. Account level, class levels, Campaign completion, and kill count are separate requirements and cannot substitute for one another. The Coalition has confirmed that Dead Serious also awards an exclusive Medal, Player Title, Banner, Emblem, Icon, and a Legendary Character Skin. The studio plans to reveal that Legendary skin at the start of Season 2: Legacy. This is the timing for the cosmetic reveal, not another requirement and not a paid seasonal unlock condition. The Lucky Ones Died on E-Day - Steam only
Earn all other 54 Steam achievements. There is no separate gameplay challenge attached to this entry. It is the final completion achievement for closing the rest of the Steam list.Xbox players should not look for it among missing achievements. The Coalition removed The Lucky Ones Died on E-Day from Xbox before launch to support the platform's Mythic Achievements feature. Completing the remaining Xbox achievement list still awards the I AM A GEAR Player Title. Why 100% Campaign completion is not the same as earning every achievement
Campaign completion only covers one part of the full list. After that, you still have class-specific Tactical Gear requirements, the full-squad Allfather extraction, Versus kills, Horde Siege kills, and the entire Player Level progression path. Even unlocking Dead Serious does not automatically mean every individual trick achievement is complete. You could still be missing something like getting crushed by a Raven or killing an opponent with the suspended mine on Battleship. Before the final push, open the unfinished achievement list and choose specific goals for the mode you are about to play. The longest grinds are 25,000 Versus kills, 50,000 Horde Siege kills, reaching level 30 with all four Horde Siege classes, and completing the full Re-Up progression. Work the smaller combat tricks into those grinds whenever possible. That is much better than finishing hundreds of hours of progression and then discovering you still need to return for one forgotten execution. Even Marcus would be annoyed.Sign in to leave a comment or rate this post.
