In Variations on Belyi and Chernyi, the Traveler becomes Odette's manager and plans two weeks of her life. Your chosen activities determine which of five endings you receive, and simply pushing both stats as high as possible is not enough for the best outcome. You need to balance the types of activities as well as Odette's energy. In this guide, we explain how to unlock every ending and build a schedule for Dawn without forcing Odette to rehearse endlessly just to chase high numbers.

How to start Variations on Belyi and Chernyi
First, unlock the Royal Theatre Meeting Point in Snezhnograd through the introductory story She Doesn't Come Out to Bow, then raise the Meeting Point to Level 2. Simply visiting the building does not replace the required Archon Quest progress or Meeting Point development. If the theatre is already open but Odette's story is unavailable, check its level and requirements in the menu before searching for another entrance or replaying the introductory quest.Once the story becomes available, travel to the Royal Theatre and follow the quest marker. After speaking with Odette and Vodyanitsa, you can begin planning her schedule. You need to prepare the ballerina for both her obligations to the Fatui and her stage performance. These goals are tied to different stats, so devoting all available time to one activity will not produce the best ending. How Odette's schedule works
Each week has five workdays on which you assign activities. The sixth day is reserved for rest, while the seventh checks your progress. During the first week, the Fatui evaluate Odette. During the second, she has her theatre performance. Across two weeks, you therefore assign ten workdays rather than fourteen free schedule slots.Odette's development is tracked through Self-Identification and External Recognition. Self-Identification is associated with the Black Swan and Odette's own path, while External Recognition represents the White Swan and how others see her. Different activities influence these values in different ways.- Monster Clearing primarily raises Self-Identification.
- Fan Meeting primarily raises External Recognition.
- Rehearsal develops both stats but does not replace a varied schedule.
- Walk restores energy instead of directly preparing for the main objectives.
Why you should enable Energetic Mode
After completing the story once, check the toggle in the upper-right corner of the schedule interface. Energetic Mode lets daily activities consistently finish with excellent results without consuming energy or causing the normal reduction to the opposing stat. It also makes it easier to preview the effects of choices in smaller random events. That is why the schedules below are much easier to reproduce with the mode enabled. There is still a catch. Energetic Mode does not choose the ending for you. Filling both weeks with Rehearsal can still lead to Snowy Night Before Dawn even if both stats are high. You still need to choose activities that correspond to the ending you want. Automatic successful activity results simplify the system but do not remove the differences between routes.Dissolving Into Applause ending
For this ending, make Fan Meetings the main focus of Odette's preparation. External Recognition should end up significantly higher than Self-Identification. On a repeat run, it is convenient to prepare enough for the first evaluation and then devote the second week heavily to public appearances. This helps avoid confusing the route with the ending where Odette fails her responsibilities entirely. In Energetic Mode, use the following schedule:- Week 1 - three Monster Clearing activities and two Fan Meetings.
- Week 2 - five Fan Meetings.
A Lonely Dance on a Tranquil Lake ending
This route needs the opposite bias, so Monster Clearing becomes the main activity. It develops Odette's Black Swan side and Self-Identification. Fan Meetings and Rehearsal remain in the schedule but take up much less time. We do not recommend removing them completely because some preparation for the second evaluation still makes the route more reliable. For a repeat run in Energetic Mode, use:- Week 1 - four Monster Clearing activities, then one Fan Meeting.
- Week 2 - one Fan Meeting, three Monster Clearing activities, and one Rehearsal.
Snowy Night Before Dawn ending
The simplest way to force this ending is to spend both weeks rehearsing. On paper, that sounds reasonable because Rehearsal raises both stats. The game also considers the activity pattern itself, however, so a repetitive schedule can still lead to an unsuccessful outcome even with impressive numbers.- Week 1 - Rehearsal on all five workdays.
- Week 2 - Rehearsal on all five workdays again.
Best ending: Dawn
To get Dawn, you need to develop both sides of Odette and vary her activities. We do not recommend obsessing over reaching exactly 100 on both bars because maximum stats alone do not guarantee the ending. A practical target is to keep both values high while maintaining a balanced activity mix. A Walk should also be included even in Energetic Mode, where energy recovery is no longer necessary. For repeat runs, use a schedule that includes Fan Meetings, Monster Clearing, and recovery during both weeks. Follow this order for each workweek:- Monday - Fan Meeting.
- Tuesday - Monster Clearing.
- Wednesday - Walk.
- Thursday - Fan Meeting.
- Friday - Monster Clearing.
Why Dawn is not unlocking
First, check that Energetic Mode is actually enabled if you are trying to copy the schedule above. Then review the chosen activities and the effects of random events. Rehearsal spam can fill both bars but still put you on the Snowy Night Before Dawn route. Likewise, spending the entire first week clearing monsters and the entire second week meeting fans is not necessarily equivalent to alternating activities throughout the schedule.Do not use the first Fatui evaluation as the only indicator either. Players can still reach Dawn without a perfect result at that stage, so there is no reason to restart automatically. Continue developing both sides and check the final activity pattern. If the ending still does not trigger, change the distribution of activities instead of simply trying to reach 100/100 again with the same routine.Days Spent Without Purpose ending
For the final route, schedule a Walk on every available workday. Do not add Fan Meetings, Monster Clearing, or Rehearsal because those activities develop the directions you are intentionally avoiding here. Odette spends the entire preparation period resting instead of completing her actual responsibilities, leading to a separate bad ending.- Week 1 - five Walks.
- Week 2 - five more Walks.
How to check unlocked endings and get the achievement
You can view unlocked endings through the Black Swan Memorial Album in the Quest Items section of your inventory. We recommend checking it after each attempt so you do not accidentally repeat an ending you already have. The main story is considered complete after your first ending. Replays are mainly for collecting alternate outcomes or reaching the specific result you want, and they do not require a new account or restarting the entire story. The Dawn ending is tied to the Black Swan in the Sky achievement in the Wonders of the World category, which rewards five Primogems. You do not need to unlock both bad endings or collect all five outcomes first. If you only care about the best result, move to the balanced schedule after your first clear and enable Energetic Mode once it becomes available.Sign in to leave a comment or rate this post.
