Scarlet Crest is a new armor set for Geralt of Rivia added in The Witcher 3 Remastered. Fortunately, you do not need to hunt down diagrams, complete a separate quest, or pay an armorer for it. The entire set is available for free through My Rewards and then waits for you in a chest inside the Royal Palace in Vizima. You can collect it as soon as you finish White Orchard, although you will not be able to equip it right away because of the level requirement. Below, we explain how to activate the reward and exactly where to find the chest. If you loaded an old save, you do not need to start a new game just to get Scarlet Crest either.

How to get Scarlet Crest: quick answer
Here's what you need to do:- Link The Witcher 3 Remastered to your CD PROJEKT RED account through My Rewards.
- Load your save and, if you want, read Yennefer's letter.
- Travel to the Royal Palace in Vizima.
- From the throne room, go left into the courtyard, then take another left into the west wing.
- Walk through the room with the fireplace and turn right.
- Open the left chest under the window and take all four pieces of the set.
How to unlock the Scarlet Crest set
First, link the game to your CD PROJEKT RED account. On PC, the easiest way is to sign in through REDlauncher, regardless of whether you own the game on Steam, GOG, or the Epic Games Store. On PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2, open My Rewards from the main menu and sign in there.Once the account is linked successfully, we recommend opening My Rewards again and checking that Scarlet Crest appears among the available bonuses. Then load your save. A letter from Yennefer will appear in the Other tab of your inventory, giving you a hint about where she left the gift.Where to find Scarlet Crest armor in Vizima
Travel to the Royal Palace in Vizima. This location becomes available through the main story immediately after the White Orchard prologue, so technically you can reach the chest very early in the game. From the palace fast travel point, enter the throne room and turn left to reach the courtyard. Walk past the Nilfgaardian Nobleman who offers to play Gwent, then take the first left at the fork and go through the door into the west wing. You will enter a room with a fireplace. Walk past it, turn right, and enter the next room. There are chests under the window on the left. You need the left chest. We recommend looting everything at once, since a new playthrough may also place other My Rewards bonus items here. What is included in the Scarlet Crest set?
The chest contains four items:- Scarlet Crest Armor.
- Scarlet Crest Gauntlets.
- Scarlet Crest Trousers.
- Scarlet Crest Boots.
Why can't you equip the armor?
The standard version of the set has a level 40 requirement. So it is completely normal to collect the reward right after White Orchard only to discover that Geralt cannot equip it yet.We recommend putting the set in your stash and coming back to it near the end of the main game or during Blood and Wine. Selling the armor for a handful of crowns is definitely not worth it. You cannot obtain a second copy through normal means, and its appearance remains useful for Reforge. What to do if the chest is empty
If you are in the correct room but Scarlet Crest is not inside the chest, check your account connection before blaming the save itself. Return to the main menu and make sure the set is actually listed under My Rewards. Then fully restart the game and load the save again. On PC, we also recommend checking that REDlauncher is signed in to the correct CD PROJEKT RED account. On consoles, open My Rewards again and complete the sign-in process if the game once again shows a QR code or asks you to log in. The set is not tied to a specific point in the story. As long as the Royal Palace in Vizima is accessible, you can collect the reward on both a fresh playthrough and an old save.Sign in to leave a comment or rate this post.
