In Chapter 5 of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, the Guardians travel to the Nova Corps station to pay their fine, only to discover that something is very wrong. While exploring the station, Peter finds a Nova Corps helmet and hears voices through its comms. You can either speak into the helmet or put it down. In this guide, we explain what each choice does and whether it has any long-term consequences.
Should You Speak Into the Helmet or Put It Down?
Should You Speak Into the Helmet or Put It Down?Should You Speak Into the Helmet or Put It Down? After the short scene, you get two options: [Speak into helmet] or [Put it down].
[Speak into helmet]: Peter answers the Nova Corps transmission and reveals the Guardians' location. A group of corrupted Nova Corps soldiers soon enters the room, which leads to an additional combat encounter. The fight is not particularly difficult and gives you extra XP, so this is the better option if you want to squeeze a little more progression out of Chapter 5. If you are already close to the next threshold, this extra XP may be enough to earn another Ability Point.
[Put it down]: Peter stays silent and throws the helmet aside. The Guardians avoid this optional fight and can continue through the station immediately. Choose this option if you simply want to move through the chapter faster.
If you choose to speak into the helmet, the soldiers will eventually confront the Guardians. You may receive another dialogue choice during the encounter, but it does not prevent the fight. The decision has no lasting effect on the story. Speaking into the helmet does not change later chapters, relationships, or the ending. Putting it down only removes this one optional enemy encounter. You will still have to fight other Nova Corps enemies later in Chapter 5 regardless of what you choose here.If you want the extra XP, choose [Speak into helmet]. If you want to skip an unnecessary fight, choose [Put it down]. Neither option has any long-term consequences in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.
