The Labyrinths
Norshteyn's Labyrinths.Norshteyn was a craftsman of the late nineteenth century. He was branded a heretic in his homeland and wandered for many years before settling in a remote village.There, Norshteyn built four labyrinths: the Castle, the House on the Hill, the Water Wheel, and the Iron Tower. After completing them, he put a gun to his temple and took his own life.The labyrinths are unique, and each requires a special metal ball to operate. Inside each is a crystalized human remains treasure said to contain the bones of Norshteyn's four beloved wives. The labyrinths are their graves.
Winemaking History
The winemaking tradition of Castle Dimitrescu began in the fifteenth century, long before its current inhabitants arrived.Alcina Dimitrescu uses a famous but unusual technique to intensify the aroma and give the wine a rich flavor.Her finest vintage is Sanguis Virginis, meaning "Maiden's Blood." It is kept in a special bottle decorated with silver flowers.

Further Observations
Four days since treatment.All three bodies have been almost completely consumed by insects. What remains is a dark, writhing mass of creatures shaped like a human body.Shortly after noon, the insects began to change color. Those around the face became pale, while those gathered around the lips turned bright crimson.Six days since treatment.The mass of insects has once again taken human form. All three have awakened and look at me like newborn children.I feel a bond with them. Like a mother with her daughters.I have already chosen their names: Bela, Daniela, and Cassandra.
Insect Observations Journal
Scientific name: none.
Size: 5 to 6 cm.
Body structure resembles a flesh fly, though the head is different. They are carnivorous and actively feed on meat. To capture prey, they assume a human form. Pheromones appear to be involved in the process.They are born when a Cadou lays eggs inside a host, but the flies themselves cannot reproduce.They weaken when exposed to a sudden drop in temperature. Below 10 degrees Celsius, their metabolism slows and they enter a state similar to cryptobiosis. Like tardigrades, perhaps, or Polypedilum vanderplanki?
Rumors of a Dagger
Rumor has it that somewhere in the castle lies a weapon known as the Dagger of Death's Flowers.This medieval relic is coated with a mixture of poisons collected from across the continent.It was supposedly created to kill demons and monsters.Sounds impressive, but no one knows where it is.
